Jerry Wong Catches a Bluff to Massively Increase His Stack

Level 9 : 400/800, 200 ante

Pot-Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

We caught up to the action after players had already taken their third draw. Jerry Wong was facing off against one opponent and there was already over 35,000 in the pot. Wong's opponent was first to act and he put out a bet of 18,000. Wong thought for roughly a minute before he opted to put in the chips to call.

Wong's opponent let out a heavy sigh and showed {7-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. Wong turned up his own {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} and that was good to for him to take down the massive pot.

Matusow Doubles Through Turner

Level 9 : 400/800, 200 ante

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Mike Matusow raised to 2,400 from under the gun and was called by Calvin Anderson in the cutoff. Jon Turner then put in a raise to 11,000 from the button. Action folded back to Matusow and he moved all in. Anderson folded but Turner called.

Matusow stood pat, slamming the table to indicate his action while Turner took one.

Matusow turned up {9-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{4-} and Turner showed {8-}{5-}{4-}{2-}.

"It's four across," Turner said sweating his last card.

"Four across is all me!" Matusow said excitedly.

Turner turned up the {9-} he drew and that would lock up the pot for Matusow.

"I mean I don't know what you're gonna go with if you don't go with that," Anderson said to Matusow after the hand.

"I never have any chips," Matusow said. "I'm just trying to entertain you guys."

Randy Ohel Eliminated

Level 9 : 400/800, 200 ante
Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Randy Ohel bet 600 on a board of {4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Brandon Cantu raised to 2,800 and Jerome Middendorf called.

Ohel had only 2,700 total, and the table was the next to break, with tournament officials having already started handing out racks to Daniel Negreanu and Adam Owen. Ohel went into the tank.

"It's so sick that we're the next table breaking," he said, "I could move straight into the big blind. If I knew that I was moving to the button..."

Eventually he called and all hands were shown.

Ohel: {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Cantu: {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Middendorf: {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Middendorf announced straight flush, only for his Jack to be the Jack of clubs not the Jack of spades. Cantu took down the pot with a full house, sevens full of tens and Ohel was eliminated.

Ohel Quadruples Up

Level 9 : 400/800, 200 ante

No-Limit 5 Card Draw

A short stack Randy Ohel was all in before the draw and called by three players. Ohel took two, Brandon Cantu took one, Adam Owen took one, and Jerome Middendorf took one as well.

Action checked around after the draw. Ohel showed {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Cantu mucked. Middendorf mucked as well but Owen showed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Spades} to earn the side pot of 1,225.

"That's the best hand I've ever had in this game," Ohel said after the hand as he took in the main pot. "And I was all in against three players."

Negreanu Scores Another Knockout

Level 9 : 400/800, 200 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

No-Limit Hold'em

A player in middle position opened to 1,400. Daniel Negreanu three-bet to 4,700 and James Obst four-bet all in for 11,250. The original raiser folded and Negreanu called.

"I think I might be live," said Negreanu.

Obst showed {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

"Yes, I'm live!" exclaimed Negreanu.

"Please don't show King-Queen," said Obst, but Negreanu turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds} giving Obst a set. "It's ok," said Negreanu, I'm going to make a flush."

The turn was the {8-Spades} eliminating any flush outs.

"Ok a ten then," said Negreanu. The river was the {10-Diamonds} eliminating Obst and boosting Negreanu into the chiplead.

No-Limit Hold'em

It folded around to Dominik Nitsche in the small blind who moved all in for 10,550.

"How much is it?" asked Daniel Negreanu, "You might get paid."

Eventually Negreanu called.

Nitsche: {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Negreanu: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{2-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Nitsche was eliminated.

"I had to think about it," said Negreanu, "I haven't played much hold'em recently!"

Adam Owen Eliminates Konstantin Puchkov

Level 9 : 400/800, 200 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

With a flop of {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and 3,000 in front of each player from bets and calls on earlier streets, action was on Adam Owen. Konstantin Puchkov had checked to him on the turn and Owen put out a bet stack of yellow T1,000 chips, enough to put Puchkov all in. Puchkov only had 9,600 behind and dropped into the tank. He thought for about two minutes before he finally called.

Owen: {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Puchkov: {2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Owen was ahead with a pair of sevens and a better flush draw than Puchkov, but Puchkov had a straight wrap and could still find some of the pot with a four, five, six, or nine that wasn't a heart.

The river though was the {J-Clubs} and that lock up the pot for Owen with his pair of sevens and ace two for the low, and he took down the whole pot.
