Big Hit For Usman Siddique

Level 4 : 100/200, 50 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

After having a great start in the first few levels and building up his stack, Usman Siddique just took a big hit from another player at his table.

David Bach raised from under the gun to 400. He was called by a player in the cutoff before Siddique made it 1,300 to play from the small blind. Bach and the cutoff both called.

On the {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop, action checked around to the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Siddique led out with a bet of 800 and only got a call from the cutoff.

The river was the {3-Hearts} and Siddique checked over to the cutoff player. He put out a large bet of 4,900. Siddique thought for a long while before putting out a call. The cutoff showed {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and, after seeing the set, Siddique mucked his hand and the cutoff was awarded the pot.

Christopher Vitch Gets Quartered

Level 4 : 100/200, 50 ante

Big O

Christopher Vitch raised to 350. Jerome Middendorf called from the small blind, as did Jason Mercier from the big blind.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. It checked to Vitch who bet 800. Middendorf called and Mercier folded.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Middendorf check-called a bet of 1,700 from Vitch.

The river was the {j-Clubs} and Vitch bet pot. Middendorf called.

Vitch: {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Middendorf: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Both players had the nut low, but Middendorf had jack-ten for two pair and took down the pot.

Wasserson Collects From Madsen

Level 4 : 100/200, 50 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

While we didn't catch the action of the hand, we came to the table with Eric Wasserson showing {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} on a board of {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Spades} for a straight and a low. He had a bet of 7,600 in front of him that Madsen was forced to pay off. Madsen counted out the chips and was left with just 4,400.

As Madsen was passing over the chips, Brandon Cantu approached the table and sat down.

"Oh, now you're here," Madsen said to Cantu.

"Yeah," Cantu replied. "Maybe I can turn it around for you."

"I had ace-five and a set," Madsen said to Cantu about the hand.

Level 4 : 100/200, 50 ante

No-Limit 5 Card Draw

Mike Matusow raised to 600 from the small blind. Lee Markholt called in the big blind.

Matusow drew one and Markholt two.

Matusow checked and Markholt bet 1,200. Matusow raised to 5,000.

Markholt folded {k-}{k-}{k-} and we were told by Todd Brunson that Matusow had flashed both him and Markholt a full house.

Break 2

Level 4 : 100/200, 50 ante

Players are on their second 15-minute break of the day and will return shortly.

Level: 5

PLO/PLO8/Big O/PLTD: Ante 25 - SB 100 - BB 200

"Take a Look at This Table, Will Ya?"

Level 5 : 150/300, 75 ante

That's what Mike Matusow said as we walked by his table.

"It's not every day you see a table where you not only know everyone on a first-name basis, but you can even say you're acquaintances with all of 'em," Matusow continued.

With over $15 million in World Series of Poker cashes and seven bracelets spread among the six players, Matusow was right. Of the seven bracelets, four belong to Matusow himself. Todd Brunson holds one and Chris Bjorin also has two.

Dan Smith, Jon Turner, and Lee Markholt are all still trying to find that first bracelet win and many consider Smith to be one of the best players left without a bracelet to his name.

Brian Rast Bests Paul Volpe

Level 5 : 150/300, 75 ante

Ian O'Hara raised to 600 from the button. Brian Rast called in the small blind and Paul Volpe called in the big blind.

Each player drew to and then all players checked.

Rast drew two, Volpe drew one and O'Hara one. O'Hara checked to Rast who bet 1,500. Volpe called and O'Hara folded.

Rast stood pat and Volpe drew one. Rast checked. Volpe asked how much was in the pot, then deliberated for a while before checking back.

Rast showed {9-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to take down the pot.
