Tureniec Doubles with the Sickest of Coolers

The worst thing that can happen to a poker player fighting for the chip lead deep in a major event is to run kings into aces.

That is exactly what just happened to Luigi Knoppers. The beneficiary, Michael Tureniec.

Tureniec opened to 110,000 from under-the-gun. Action folded to Knoppers in the cutoff and he made it 320,000. Tureniec four-bet to 710,000 and called Knoppers' five-bet shove, putting himself at risk.

Tureniec: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Knoppers: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

A sick, sick cooler that could not have gone down any other way. Knoppers still had hope and a shot at taking a monster chip lead.

The board, however, ran true for Tureniec, fanning out {8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Tureniec was pushed the largest pot of the event thus far.
