Bach: {X-}{X-} / {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Bach: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}: {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Zinno's seventh street was the {3-Spades} to keep him with aces and queens, while Bach caught the {J-Clubs} to make an inferior two pair and was eliminated.

Benson Doubles Through Shakerchi Before Break

Level 16 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Gary Benson
Gary Benson

Pot-Limit Omaha

Gary Benson opened from the cutoff with a raise to 28,000. He met resistance in the form of calls from Talal Shakerchi, in the small blind, and Aaron Katz from the big blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, and action checked to Benson, who put out a bet of 40,000. Shakerchi then raised to 105,000. Benson re-potted it. Sharkerchi moved all in, and Benson called.

Shakerchi: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Benson: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Both players had flopped the nut straight, but things got a little interesting with the {3-Clubs} on the turn, giving Shakerchi a flush draw. Unfortunately for him, Benson found a {J-Spades} on the river, giving him a full house. That earned him the double as players headed for break.

"Am I supposed to fold there?" Shakerchi asked.

"Fold? What do you mean fold?" Katz asked. "I'm trying to figure out how to get all the money in there!"

Shakerchi just shook his head and headed for break, as well.

Katz Over Negreanu

Aaron Katz
Aaron Katz

Pot-Limit Omaha

Picking up the action after the turn of a {3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} board, Aaron Katz bet 100,000 from the small blind. Daniel Negreanu called from the big blind and Talal Shakerchi folded from the button.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and Katz bet 275,000. Negreanu mulled it over for a bit before he called.

Katz tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} for queens full of threes, Negreanu flashed the {Q-Spades} and mucked, and Katz collected the pot.

Abdalla Hits the Rail

Level 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Jake Abdalla
Jake Abdalla

Pot-Limit Omaha

Elior Sion opened with a raise to 35,000 from the cutoff and he was called by Mike Wattel on the button and Jake Abdalla from the big blind.

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Abdalla bet the pot, making it 113,000. Sion then minraised, making it 226,000. Abdalla moved all in and Sion quickly called.

Sion: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Abdalla: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Sion had flopped a set while Abdalla had a flush draw. The turn was the {J-Clubs} though and that didn't improve either player. The river was the {K-Diamonds} and that gave Sion a straight while Abdalla did not improve. That earned the pot for Sion and he collected the chips and Abdalla's elimination brought the field down to 22 players.

Moments later Mark Gregorich was also eliminated.

Richey: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Seiver led with middle set and an open-ended straight draw against Richey's top pair.

Richey picked up a few outs to survive with the {6-Hearts} turn, but the {10-Diamonds} river officially ended his tournament.

Negreanu Triples Up

Level 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

2-7 Triple Draw

Talal Shakerchi raised on the button, Aaron Katz three-bet the small blind, and Daniel Negreanu put his 95,000 in. Both opponents called, and they each asked for two cards. Katz and Shakerchi checked, and everyone took two again. Two checks later, Katz asked for a final couple of cards. Negreanu patted and shot out of his seat when Shakerchi asked for two.

"Pat against two two-card draws, don't you dare do it," Negreanu said.

Katz and Shakerchi checked, with the former showing a pair of deuces and the latter a trio of sevens. Negreanu showed {9-}{8-}{6-}{3-}{2-} and took the pot.

Arieh Eliminated

Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

Razz

Josh Arieh had a stronger board than Ian Johns with {2-}{5-}{6-} and bet into him on fifth and sixth, while Johns picked up a couple of paint cards but stuck around.

Arieh: {x-}{x-}/{2-}{5-}{6-}{9-}/{x-}
Johns: {x-}{x-}/{a-}{q-}{6-}{k-}/{x-}

Arieh bet the river, and Johns called him right away.

"Eight-six," Arieh announced.

"Eight-six-what?" Johns asked.

Arieh showed {9-}{8-}{4-} for {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Johns had him beat though, as his {8-}{5-}{3-} in the hole meant he played {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{a-}.

"Sure," Arieh said sarcastically. "Sure."

Two hands later Arieh was all in for about 90,000 against Michael Mizrachi who made an eight-six. Arieh couldn't beat it and was eliminated.

Double for the Grinder

Level 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

Pot-Limit Omaha

Michael Mizrachi completed the blind, and Matthew Ashton potted to 48,000. "The Grinder" called and checked a {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop. Ashton potted, and Mizrachi stuck his stack in, which turned out to be 231,000.

Mizrachi: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Ashton: {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Mizrachi had top-top and a couple of blockers, while Ashton had sixes with a straight draw. He got there right away when the {5-Clubs} hit, and Mizrachi exited his seat in disgust and started to walk away. He didn't realize he had a set, and he filled up on the {6-Clubs} river to double.

"I didn't even know," he said with a sheepish laugh as he walked back to his seat when told he won the pot. "I thought I was dead."

Obst: {x-}{x-} / {K-Clubs}{4-Spades}{A-Spades}
Zinno: {x-}{x-} / {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} — Folded

Anthony Zinno completed and James Obst called. On fourth street, Obst checked over to Zinno. Zinno bet and Obst called.

On fifth street Zinno bet again, this time with the betting lead. Obst made it two bets. That put Zinno into the tank. He thought for nearly two minutes before finally releasing his hand. With that, Zinno became the shortest stack in the tournament while Obst continued to chip up.

Gary Benson

2-7 Triple Draw

Daniel Negreanu raised from the button and Gary Benson called from the big blind.

Benson drew three, Negreanu drew one, and Benson check-called Negreanu's bet.

Both drew one on the second draw, Benson bet, Negreanu raised, and Benson called all in for his remaining 30,000.

Both stood pat on the final draw.

"Eight-seven, said Benson, as he tabled {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}.

"Eight-six," said Negreanu, as he fanned {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. "Sorry, Gary."

With that, the field is down to 18 and the players are redrawing for seats at the final three tables.
