Obst Takes More From Wattel

Level 18 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Mike Wattel opened from the cutoff and was called by James Obst in the big blind.

Obst took two while Wattel took one. Obst then check-called a bet from Wattel.

On the second draw Obst took two again while Wattel took one again. Obst check-called a second bet from Wattel.

Obst took one on the last draw while Wattel stood pat. Obst checked his card, then bet. Wattel threw his hand up in frustration, scoffed, then folded his hand. That allowed Obst to take the pot while Wattel fell to one of the shortest stacks left in the tournament.

Negreanu Visibly Frustrated

Level 18 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Isaac Haxton raised from under the gun and Daniel Negreanu called from the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Negreanu check-called a bet from Haxton. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and Negreanu check-called another bet. The river was the {10-Clubs} and Negreanu checked for a third time. Haxton bet for a third time and Negreanu took about a minute before he called.

Haxton turned over {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens.

"Fffffffffffffff," said a frustrated Negreanu, clenching his hands in the air before he mucked, flashing the {9-Hearts} to the table.

Seiver Paid Off on River Check-Raise

Level 18 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Both Scott Seiver in the small blind and Paul Volpe in the cutoff checked a {2-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, bringing a {10-Clubs}. Seiver check-called 80,000 and the river brought a {3-Hearts}. Seiver checked again and Volpe bet 132,000. Seiver cut out a raise and put in 350,000. Volpe thought for awhile and then put in a call.

Seiver showed {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for a wheel. Volpe mucked what he said was a set and a five blocker.

"You can't fold that," Seiver said. "If you do, then I'm just dusting."

Elior Sion

No-Limit Hold'em

From under the gun James Obst raised to 50,000. He was called by Elior Sion, and Mike Wattel on the button.

"Wow," Mike Matusow said from the big blind. "This would be a world class squeeze."

He pump faked towards his chips then folded, chuckling to himself.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and all three players checked to see the {9-Hearts} on the turn. Obst checked on the turn and Sion put out a bet of 75,000. Both players folded and Sion took down another pot, bolstering his already big stack.

Obst: {x-}{x-} / {K-Clubs}{4-Spades}{A-Spades}
Zinno: {x-}{x-} / {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} — Folded

Anthony Zinno completed and James Obst called. On fourth street, Obst checked over to Zinno. Zinno bet and Obst called.

On fifth street Zinno bet again, this time with the betting lead. Obst made it two bets. That put Zinno into the tank. He thought for nearly two minutes before finally releasing his hand. With that, Zinno became the shortest stack in the tournament while Obst continued to chip up.

Perry Doubles Through Seiver

Level 18 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Scott Seiver raised first to act, and Ralph Perry reraised on his left. Seiver called and then check-called a {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop. He checked the {9-Spades} turn, and Perry bet again. Seiver asked to see what was behind, and it was 79,000. He called again and checked the {8-Spades} river. Perry put in the rest.

"Don't worry I have a bad hand," Seiver said as he thought. "Most people would just fold. But, I have so much respect for you, I might just have to gift you this 79,000. Because you could have the king-queen suited here. You know it, and I know it."

Seiver did call, and Perry showed {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for trips. Seiver mucked {a-}{q-}.
