Michael Smith Check-Raises All In

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

There were still four players in the hand, and the pot had around 6,000 in the middle and the board reading {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Michael Smith checked from the small blind, and the big blind bet 3,000. The other two players folded, and the action was back on Smith. He scoped out his opponent's stack and counted his own before moving all in for his remaining 12,300 chips. His opponent let out a sigh and shrugged his shoulders before releasing his cards into the muck.

Yockey Seeing Red

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

"I busted the 50k and I haven't folded a pot since." Bryce Yockey just moved next to defending Champion, Loren Klein.

"You just folded the nuts on the flop," Klein said.

At that point, a player raised to 1,200 from the button, and Yockey re-raised to 3,800.

"This shouldn't really be a surprise," Yockey said.

His opponent re-raised again, and the two got all in. Yockey was ahead with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} against the {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} of his opponent.

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, and Yockey won the hand.

"All that talk got you some action," Klein said.

Yockey said he would normally flat but wanted to give us something to write about.

So far, Yockey seems to be building his stack quickly despite his apparent distress toward recently busting from the $50,000 Poker Players Championship.

The Chips Keep Going Laplante's Way

Ryan Laplante

Pot-Limit Omaha

The action was folded to the cutoff, who raised to 1,200 and was called by both the button and Ryan Laplante, in the big blind.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and Laplante checked to the original raiser, who bet 2,200. The button folded, and Laplante called to see the turn. The {8-Clubs} came on the turn, and both players checked to the {k-Clubs} on the river. Again, both players checked.

Laplante tabled {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. His opponent showed {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} but mucked the rest of his hand as Laplante took down another pot.

Ricardo Marcos Busts Two

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Ricardo Marcos and two other players got all in preflop. Marcos had {a-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} against the {k-}{k-}{x-}{x-} and {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades} of his opponents.

The board ran out {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}, giving Marcos a full house on the river and eliminating both of his opponents.

Quad Kings for Jeff Gross

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante
Jeff Gross

Pot-Limit Omaha

It was raised to 1,300 from under the gun, and one player called from middle position before Jeff Gross also called from the hijack. The big blind called, as well.

The flop was {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}. The action was checked around there, and through the {k-Spades} turn. The river was the {k-Diamonds}. Once again, everyone checked to Gross, who was last to act, and he bet 4,500. He was called by the preflop raiser, and Gross tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for quad kings and scooped the pot.
