Flush for Le

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

On the turn of a board showing {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Nam Le bet out 4,000. His lone opponent in the hand called, and the {8-Hearts} on the river put four hearts out there. Le went for the same bet of 4,000, and his opponent quickly called.

Le rolled over {A-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for two pair that had turned into a rivered flush, and his opponent nodded his head, flashed {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for a lesser flush, and sent his cards into the muck.

Mark Roovers Loses Some with Aces

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Paul Volpe raised to 800 and got two callers before Mark Roovers three-bet to 3,200 from the button. Volpe called, as did the player in the cutoff.

The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} and all three players checked.

The turn was the {k-Clubs} and Volpe bet 4,700. The cutoff folded and Roovers called.

Both players checked the river which was the {q-Clubs}. Volpe showed {9-}{9-} and that was good enough to beat the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} of Roovers.

Dominik Nitsche Peaked?

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

888poker Ambassador Dominik Nitsche has just taken his seat in Amazon and his table made it know that he was immediately dealt good cards.

Nitsche confirmed that he had been dealt aces first hand but got no action and kings second hand where he made top set and a few chips.

“All downhill from here,” Nitsche predicted.

Maybe We Should Raise the Blinds Now

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

For the last 100 minutes of Level 2, blinds have been 150/300 with no ante. Sitting at the secondary feature table, Mike McDonald was enjoying a conversation with his friend via text. The two were analyzing hands and talking strategy. McDonald gave his friend some input on a hand and his friend corrected him about the bet-sizing.

McDonald was made aware of the current blind level and quickly realized his table was playing the wrong one. Instead of going to 150/300 after the first level of 75/150, they played 100/200, a blind level that isn't featured on the structure sheet this year.

Finally playing the correct blinds, McDonald opened to 700 from under the gun and Bertrand Grospellier called from early position. The flop was {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} and McDonald check-folded to a bet of 1,200 from Grospellier.

Cate Hall Loses Some

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

With a substantial pot of about 12,000 already brewing on a flop of {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, Cate Hall bet 6,700 from the small blind and the player in the cutoff called. The button then raised to 18,000, and after brief consideration, Hall folded and the cutoff did the same.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Nathan bet again for 1,300. Owen called.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Nathan bet a third time for 2,000. Owen called and was shown {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for two pair, jacks and fives, and Nathan took down the pot.
