Smalley's Aces Hold Against Adams and Pauli's Kings on Feature Table

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Sebastian Pauli
Sebastian Pauli

On one of the feature tables, a huge three-way pot has played out that saw Sebastian Pauli eliminated while Larry Smalley (pictured below) nearly tripled up at the expense of Pauli and Adams.

Smalley was dealt {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} under the gun and appeared to raise as Pauli and his {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} called from a few seats over before Brandon Adams three-bet the small blind to 22,000.

Smalley responded by moving all in for 88,700 before Pauli committed what appeared to be roughly 55,000 in chips. Adams had both players covered, and he called holding {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

Smalley: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Adams: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Pauli: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

With Smalley appearing to have a stranglehold on the hand, the dealer dropped a {7-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop to give Pauli outs to backdoor diamonds.

The turn, however, would end all hope for Pauli and Adams as it fell the {3-Spades}, and when the river landed the {8-Hearts}, Pauli was eliminated while Smalley more than doubled to 225,000 in chips.

Deuces are Good for Schwarmann

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With about 4,500 already in the middle and the board reading {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-}{K-Diamonds}, Nick Schwarmann bet 1,000 from the small blind into his lone opponent on the button and he called.

The river brought the {6-Hearts} and both players checked. Schwarmann tabled {2-}{2-} and it was good enough to win the pot which brought his stack over the 200,000-chip mark.

Kenney and Salsberg Tangle

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The flop read {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} with around 4,500 in the pot, and the only two players left in the hand were Matt Salsberg and Bryn Kenney. Salsberg was in the big blind and checked to Kenney who bet 3,000. Salsberg made the call and they were off to the turn.

The {3-Hearts} came on the turn and Salsberg checked again. Kenney bet 8,100 this time and Salsberg gave up on the hand.

Mu Loses Flip to Ashton; Knoppers Moving Up

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Matthew Ashton raised from the cutoff and Dapeng Mu three-bet to 6,000 out of the small blind with 25,100 behind. Once the action was back on Ashton, he slid forward his stack of T$5,000 chips, enough to cover Mu by far. Mu took half a minute to consider his options and called all in.

Mu: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Ashton: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

There was no help for Mu on a board of {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Ashton scooped the pot with a set of sixes.

Also on the rail: Alexander Roumeliotis, who previously lost most of his stack with pocket queens against the pocket nines of Luigi Knoppers.

Nick Schulman's Flush is Good

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

With the board reading {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, Nick Schulman was in middle position facing a bet of 4,000 from his opponent in late position. Schulman called and the turn was the {8-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the river was the {K-Clubs}, putting the fourth club on the board.

Schulman checked and his opponent bet 13,000. Schulman tossed in calling chips and his opponent tabled {K-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of kings with no club. Schulman had flopped a flush with {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and it was still good on the river.

Zullo Doubles Up

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With about 18,000 already in the middle and the board reading {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Mark Zullo checked from the small blind, the big blind checked, and the player under the gun bet 13,000. Zullo check-raised all in for 64,600 and the big blind quickly folded. The under-the-gun player asked for Zullo's stack to be counted down and then called to put him at risk.

Zullo: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {5-Spades}{3-Spades}

Zullo's opponent was ahead with two pair, but Zullo had a diamond flush draw in addition to his pair of tens, giving him a fair amount of equity heading to the river. It was the {10-Clubs} which gave him trips to take the pot and double up.

Nguyen Drops Even More; Queens for Schneider

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After a raise to 2,300, Pierre Merlin three-bet to 6,300 and Dylan Nguyen called in the cutoff, as did Mile Schneider in the small blind. The flop came {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and all four players checked. Schneider bet the {8-Hearts} turn for 11,000, which only the initial raiser called. Both remaining players then checked down the {9-Hearts} and Schneider turned over {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to scoop the pot.
