Nick Guagenti Makes it Happen on the Button

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded around to Nick Guagenti on the button and he moved all in for his last 335,000. Zachary Hirst was in the small blind and thought for a brief moment before moving all in over the top.

Guagenti was at risk and behind with {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, up against Hirst's {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, pairing Hirst's aces but giving Guagenti the nut flush draw. The turn was the {q-Clubs} and Guagenti locked up the pot before the dealer could put out the insignificant {j-Clubs} on the river.

Jerry Giroir Eliminated by Istvan Toro

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded around to Istvan Toro in the small blind and he moved all in, clearly putting Jerry Giroir to the test for his last 185,000 chips in the big blind. Giroir called.

Toro shrugged his shoulders as he tabled {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, behind the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} of Giroir.

the flop came {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Toro paired his jack, but Giroir picked up a flush draw. The turn was the {8-Spades} and the river was the {q-Spades}, sending Giroir to the rail.

Toro started the day quite short, but now has a healthy stack worth 1,100,000.

Hallaert's Bluff Fails, Sammartino Wins With No Showdown

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

With just a bit more than 400,000 already in the pot, Kenny Hallaert was facing off against Dario Sammartino. The board read {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and Hallaert was first to act. He checked over to Sammartino who checked behind.

On the {9-Diamonds} river, Hallaert cut out a bet of 260,000 and pushed it forward. Sammartino instantly called. Hallaert then mucked his hand and Sammartino followed by sliding his cards forward, face down. He was awarded the pot without having to show his hand and no player at the table asked to see it, nor did the dealer table it. With that pot, Sammartino pushed his stack over the 3-million-chip mark while Hallaert dropped to just over 2 million.

Pollak Sends Becker to the Rail

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Johannes Becker
Johannes Becker

Benjamin Pollak started the day as one of the shortest stacks with just 218,000, and he has since done plenty of work at the tables. In a recent hand, Johannes Becker just called a raise to 55,000 by Pollak and checked the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop. Pollak continued for 45,000 and was called before the German also check-called the {6-Hearts} turn for 125,000.

The {K-Hearts} river completed the board and Becker checked for the third time. Pollak bet 350,000 and Becker moved all in to receive a snap-call by Pollak. Becker rolled over {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for a set of kings on the river, while the very same card gave Pollak the nut straight with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

Joel Ettedgi Eliminated by Pawel Brzeski

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Cosmin Joldis raised to 60,000 from the cutoff. Pawel Brzeski, who qualified for the 2017 Main Event through 888poker, three-bet to 18,000 from the button. The small blind folded and Joel Ettedgi four-bet all in for around 600,000.

Joldis folded and Brzeski quickly called.

Ettedgi: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Brzeski: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

There was help for Ettedgi on the {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop, but it wasn't enough with the board eventually running out {6-Diamonds} and {4-Clubs} to eliminate him.

Nitsche Picks Up a Couple Pots

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

With three players in the hand and around 150,000 in the middle, the flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Dominik Nitsche checked from the small blind and the big blind also checked. The button bet 68,000 and Nitsche was the only one to make the call.

The {j-Hearts} fell on the turn and Nitsche led out for 100,000. His opponent thought for a couple minutes but decided to lay his hand down.

In the next hand, there was a raise to 52,000 from middle position and Nitsche three-bet to 150,000 from the button. The blinds and the initial raiser both mucked their hands and Nitsche picked up another pot.

Pham on a Roll, Busts Chartier

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Not long ago, Christian Pham was one card away from joining the rail and drawing to only a chop. Pham got there to chop it up and has since boosted his stack significantly. Just now he received the stack of Sam Chartier who put his hopes on ace-queen in a preflop all-in.

Pham called with the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and flopped a set on the board {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} to leave Chartier already drawing dead on the turn.
