Messina Over 30 Million

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Michael Sklenicka raised to 450,000 on the button, and Alexandre Reard called out of the big blind.

On the {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, Reard checked, and Sklenicka continued for 300,000. Reard called. The {K-Clubs} turn brought no betting action, and Reard checked again on the {10-Diamonds} river. Sklenicka bet 1,100,000, and Reard reluctantly folded.

In the next hand, Valentin Messina made it 525,000 to go, and Scott Stewart three-bet to 1,400,000. Out of the big blind, Jonas Mackoff asked for Stewart's stack size and seemed interested, but he ultimately folded. Messina asked the very same question: "How much are you playing?"

"Total with this, nine million," Stewart replied. After brief consideration, Messina four-bet to 3,150,000, and Stewart let go after giving it some thought.

Secondary Feature Counts

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Play has slowed a bit to a lot of raise-and-takes. Hegele has quite a crowd of Germans growing on the rail and singing songs whenever he takes a pot. Dubini has climbed up the leaderboard in the last couple of hours, and Pham still holds the big stack.

"Let's Play Beer Poker!"

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Pedro Oliveira
Pedro Oliveira

Action folded around to Pedro Oliveira. He limped in from the small blind.

"Let's play beer poker!" he said, raising his cup and taking a sip.

"I hope you're ready to cheers before the flop," Bryan Piccioli said from the big blind. The two man tapped their glasses and took a sip, then Piccioli checked, taking the two to a flop.

On the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, Oliveira bet 200,000. Piccioli and Oliveira tapped glasses, drank again, and Piccioli called.

Both players checked on the {J-Hearts} turn to the {10-Spades} river. There, Oliveira bet 350,000.

Piccioli quickly folded, turning his {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} face-up. "I had a really good hand on the flop," he said.

As the dealer saw what transpired, he warned Piccioli not to expose his cards without announcing his action, letting him know that he could receive a penalty.

"What, really?" Piccioli said. "Are you serious?"

"Wait, wait," Oliveira said. "You don't understand. We're playing beer poker. It's different."

The table had a laugh, and Oliveira took down the pot.

Neil Patel
Neil Patel

Dan Ott raised to 450,000 from the cutoff, Neil Patel three-bet shoved from the button for 3,070,000, and Ott called after confirming the amount.

Ott: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Patel: {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Patel was ahead, but the flop came down {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} to give Ott the lead with a pair of nines. The {A-Spades} turn was no help to Patel, nor was the {8-Hearts} river, ending his Main Event in 29th place.

Luske Doubles Through His Rival

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Marcel Luske
Marcel Luske

Marcel Luske managed to get his stack of 2,050,000 into the middle preflop, and he got action from Jake Bazeley. The two players have been exchanging words all day, so it was only fitting they would find themselves flipping at some point.

Luske was at risk with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, up against Bazeley's {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and Luske remained ahead with a pair of nines. Bazeley's rail started calling for a king, but the {6-Clubs} hit the turn.

Another railbird yelled, "C'mon! Barry Greenstein on the river!"

The river was the {6-Spades}, though, and Luske held on to double up.
