Shaqiri Doubles Through Kempson

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Raman Shaqiri
Raman Shaqiri

Corey Kempson raised to 1,000 from the cutoff. Dmitriy Tymoshenko called from the button and was followed by Michael Egan in the small blind. Raman Shaqiri then moved all in for 22,900 from the big blind. Kempson slid out a stack of 5,000-chips signifying a raise which forced a fold from Tymoshenko and Egan.

Shaqiri: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Kempson: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, improving Shaqiri to a higher pair on the flop, keeping him in the tournament.

"It's about time I got some redemption off you, sir," said Shaqiri to Kempson after the hand.

"I was just about to rebuy back in," Shaqiri added.

"I run back from the restroom and get dealt queens," sighed Kempson.

Teska Rails Jiang

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Sosia Jiang
Sosia Jiang

There was a cry of 'All-in, Call!' over on one of the outer tables and it was Sosia Jiang the player at risk on a {7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop. Jiang had jammed from under-the-gun on the flop with {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the straight and had been called by neighbour Roger Teska, holding {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for the nut flush draw and two overs.

The {9-Clubs} turn completed Teska's flush to leave Jiang drawing dead. The {2-Hearts} river completed the hand and Teska stacked up to 107,000 while Jiang headed for the cage to re-enter.

Ragozzini Gets Lynskey to Fold

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Sean Ragozzini raised to 1,000 from middle position before Alex Lynskey re-raised to 3,200 from the cutoff. Ragozzini called.

The flop came {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Ragozzini checked. Lynskey continued for 4,500. Ragozzini called.

Both players checked the {6-Diamonds} on the turn before the {a-Hearts} completed the board.

Ragozzini fired out 21,000. Lynskey thought for a minute before mucking his hand.

Suchanek Rails Arrilucea

Level 4 : 300/600, 600 ante
Luis Arrilucea
Luis Arrilucea

A regular in the AUS$2/3 cash games at The Star Sydney, Luis Arrilucea won his seat into this event for AU$1,100. However, Arrilucea will be going no further unless he wishes to pony up another $20,000 as he has been eliminated at the hands of Jan Suchanek.

The two got all the chips in on a ten-high flop, Arrilucea's pocket queens trailing to Suchanek's pocket aces to hit the rail and thin the field by one.

The number of entries has climbed to 35 with the re-entry of Vincent Huang and the entry of Jonathan Karamalikis.
