Edwin Chiu starts Day 3 as the chip leader

Welcome to Day 3 of the WSOP International Circuit Sydney Main Event where cards will go in the air at 12:30pm local time.

After six long days of poker, it is Edwin Chiu with the chip lead after collecting 4,505,000 chips through his first two days. Chiu's current total live earnings are $13,856, so he is guaranteed to almost double that with the next place finisher guaranteeing themselves $13,128. But the young Australian has put himself in the box seat to capture his first WSOP Circuit ring and the $410,264 first prize money that comes with it.

Rounding out the top three include; Huss Hassan (2,875,000) and Adrian Attenborough (2,400,000). Attenborough is currently sitting 26th on the Australian All Time Money List. A win in this event would see him pass some very respectable players including; Joe Cabret, 2015 Aussie Millions champion Manny Stavropoulos and 2009 Aussie Millions champion Stewart Scott.

Other notables still in the field are Hamish Crawshaw, Dean Blatt, Tom Rafferty, last years 11th place finisher Lior Segre and Billy Argyros. Argyros is another in the same position as Attenborough who has the opportunity to move up the All Time Money List and crack the top 20. A win would see him pass young gun Brendon Rubie and 2012 Aussie Millions champion Oliver Speidel.

Today the final 24 players will play down to a final table of nine in the poker room at The Star in Sydney. Play will continue at Level 24 with the blinds at 20,00/40,000, with a 40,000 ante. There will be a 10-minute break after every two levels.
