Defending Champ Spikes on the River

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Defending Champion Danny Huynh (left) and Jarred Graham (right)
Defending Champion Danny Huynh (left) and Jarred Graham (right)

Todd Ritson limped into the pot from under the gun before the defending champion of this event, Danny Huynh, raised to 700 from the cutoff. Jarred Graham called from the button followed by Frank Koopmann in the small blind. Ritson called as well.

The flop came {6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and the action checked to Huynh who continued for 1,000. Graham and Koopmann called. Ritson folded.

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and Koopmann checked. Huynh tossed out 5,000. Graham raised to 12,000. Koopmann folded.

"Is two pair good?" muttered Huynh to himself. "I have a gutshot too," he added with a laugh.

Graham laughed along mentioning that there had to be something else keeping him in.

"You want me to call?" asked Huynh.

"Of course. I have the best hand," added Graham with a smile.

Huynh knew he was behind but obliged with a call for his remaining 12,000.

Huynh: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Graham: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Graham had the lead with two pair against Huynh who had a pair and gutshot straight draw.

The dealer produced the {9-Diamonds} on the river to indeed give Huynh the straight and the winning hand.

"I'm back to my starting stack," acknowledged Graham with a smile, before both players shook hands, and continued playing on.

Hindmarch Forces White Out

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a flop of {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds} Tam Truong checked from the small blind before Andrew White bet 1,000 from the big blind. Andrew Hindmarch was on the button and re-raised to 3,000. Truong folded. White called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and White checked. Hindmarch immediately announced pot and threw out 8,400. White thought for a minute before opting to fold.

Hindmarch slowly revealed three of his cards one by one, the {10-Spades} then {7-Diamonds} and {4-Clubs}, before mucking the last card and raked in the pot.

Daniel Tan Building Early

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Daniel 'DT' Tan
Daniel 'DT' Tan

Following two limpers, Daniel Tan pumped the pot to 600, which deterred no-one. The action went three-way to a flop of {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

That was it for the betting in the hand, with the action checked on the flop, the {6-Spades} turn and the {6-Hearts} river. Tan turned over {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and kings and sixes were enough to take the pot.

Bownds and Correia Chop it Up

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Over on the feature table, Nuno Correia made it 400 to go from the hijack and Ryan Bownd's re-popped it to 1,400 on the button. After both blinds folded, Correia made the call to take the action heads-up to a flop of {j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, which both players checked.

The {10-Hearts} turn was the action card, with Bownds leading for 2,700 and Correia re-raising to 9,000 in total. Bownds shoved and Correia quickly called and the hands were turned over.

Nuno Correa: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Ryan Bownds: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Spades}

Both players had the Broadway straight, with Bownds having a slight 57% freeroll with his backdoor hearts. However, the {9-Spades} river meant it was a chop.

Sitbon Sits In

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Julien Sitbon is back in action, making it 700 to go from the big blind following an under-the-gun limp and calls from the button and small blind. Under-the-gun limper Luke Burmester was the only caller to take the action heads-up to a flop of {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Sitbon led out for 2,000 with Burmester making the call to bring the duo to the {7-Hearts} turn, which brought another bet from Sitbon and a fold from Burmester.

Rix and Lee Battle

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

A sizable pot played out between Jason Rix and Thomas Lee that saw the former win a sizable pot. It was Lee who was the instigator, making it 500 to go pre-flop from the cutoff. Rix re-raised to 1,300 from the button and the big blind cold-called, with Lee tossing in the extras to take play three-way to a flop of {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Following a check from the big blind, Lee potted and Rix was the only caller, with the {10-Diamonds} pairing the board. Lee led, Rix raised and the pot was over 15,000 coming into the {8-Diamonds} river, which saw checks from both.

Rix rolled over {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} for the boat, with Lee griping "Well, I had the nuts on the flop..." but then, that's pot-limit Omaha for you. Rix scooped the pot to climb to 47,200 while Lee took the hit to drop down to 26,300.
