Ivey Chipping Up

Stud 8:

On fourth street, showing {6-Clubs} {5-Spades}, Phil Ivey led out with a bet and was called by both Jason Newitt and Thomas Bihl who were showing {A-Spades} {8-Clubs} and {J-Clubs} {9-Spades} respectively.

Ivey fired again on fifth street, now showing a pair of sixes, and both players called:

Ivey: {6-Clubs} {5-Spades} {6-Spades}
Newitt: {A-Spades} {8-Clubs} {Q-Spades}
Bihl: {J-Clubs} {9-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

On sixth, first action fell to Bihl who took the lead with a pair of queens. Bihl exercised his option and led out with a bet which forced Newitt out of the pot. Ivey then opted for a raise and Bihl made the call:

Ivey: {6-Clubs} {5-Spades} {6-Spades} {J-Diamonds}
Newitt: {A-Spades} {8-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {10-Clubs} (fold)
Bihl: {J-Clubs} {9-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}

On seventh street, the dealer almost pitched the final cards face up, but Ivey quickly correctly him, saying, "Down... down!"

The cards safely reached their destinations, face down, and Bihl passed to Ivey who fired one last bet on the river. Bihl made the call, then quickly mucked after Ivey tabled the {6-Diamonds} and {5-Clubs} to go with his upcards, making a full house.

Ivey now sits with just over 18,000 in chips heading into the second break of the day.
