Just moments after Erik Seidel had kindly counted out his 22,600 stack for your weary blogger, he got almost all of those chips in preflop with pocket queens. His opponent held , duly spiked on the turn, and Seidel is down to a mere 2,500 now.
Kerry Taylor's picked up some chips and is currently perched on a below-average but still thoroughly manageable 10,000. His table neighbour Adam Matusiak raised, but Taylor shoved; Matusiak eventually thought better of calling off half his stack and the pot was Taylor's.
From 329 runners at the start of the day and then 94 at the dinner break, we have now dropped down to just 59 players on six tables. Remember, if we get down to 40 runners we'll be quitting early; otherwise we'll be playing another two hours after this level.
Now that we're down to six tables, by the by, it has been announced that we'll be playing nine-handed once a few folks go and bust themselves out. It may well go even more rapidly once that happens.
David Stucke is up to 40,000 after knocking out a smallish stack. The smallish stack seems to have moved in with but Stucke got involved with . The better hand held up, and the opponent headed for the rail.
Raymond Rahme has shot up to 44,000 after taking a bit pot off Swee Chai, who has dropped to 15,000 as a result. Rahme must get away with murder: like a cuddly grandpa, I would never believe he was capable of bluffing.
