Haile Doubles Up

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

William Koks opened the pot to 9,000 in middle position, and Richard Haile s three-bet shoved for his last 47,000. When it came back around to Koks, he spent a long while in the tank, eventually asking, "Will you show me a card?"

Haile was right there with the answer: "For forty-seven thousand, you can see them both."

Koks eventually decided he wanted to see, and he made the call to put Haile to the test.

Showdown
Koks: {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts}
Haile: {8-Spades} {8-Hearts}

There was a sweat on the turn, but the {2-Spades} {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {5-Spades} board was blank for Koks. He'll send the double over to Haile, and both men are right around 100,000 now.

Erik Cajelais

From under the gun, Gianluca Speranza raised to 4,800. Erik Cajelais reraised from the cutoff seat and made it 12,500 to go. Ricky Hale moved all in from the button for 29,400. Action folded back to Cajelais and he made the call.

Cajelais held the {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Hale held the {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and Hale doubled up.

Romanello Doubles Haile and Loses One to Cedolia

On back-to-back hands, Roberto Romanello has dropped about 35,000 chips. First, he doubled up Richard Haile. Second, he lost a pot to Gianluca Cedolia after getting check-raised on the river. Here are the two hands.

On the first one, Haile raised all in for 23,100 from middle position. Action folded to Romanello on the button and he made the call with the {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Haile held the {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The flop, turn and river ran out {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

On the very next hand, Romanello raised to 4,900 and Cedolia called from the big blind to see the flop come down {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the {6-Spades} paired the board on the turn. Both checked again to see the {5-Spades} land on the river. After Cedolia checked, Romanello fired 5,000. Cedolia check-raised to 16,000 and Romanello folded.

Baudry Bolstered

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

With a raise in front of him, Salman Behbehani shoved his last ~40,000 into the pot from middle position. Eric Baudry was on the button, and after some time, he re-shoved over the top for about 100,000, maybe a tick less. That folded the initial raiser, and Behbehani let out a sigh as he figured his ace-jack was in bad shape. He was wrong.

Showdown
Behbehani: {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}
Baudry: {A-Spades} {10-Clubs}

Oh! Ace-jack suddenly looked pretty good, but it didn't last long. The first three cards came {J-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Spades}, flopping Baudry the joint and leaving Behbehani dead to runner-runner or a chop. The turn {5-Spades} was a blank, as was the {8-Spades} river, and that's the end of the road for another player.

We're down to 20 now, and Baudry is doing rather well with about 148,000 chips.

"Yes!"

From under the gun plus one, Nabil Nedjai raised to 8,000. Action folded to Gianluca Speranza in the big blind and he reraised to 25,000. Nedjai moved all in for 82,200 and Speranza called.

Speranza: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Nedjai: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The flop came down {A-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Nedjai yelled out, "Yes!" in excitement. The turn was the {2-Spades} and the river the {10-Clubs}. After the river, Nedjai yelled out another "Yes!" as he earned the double.

Benoit Turns an Ace

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

On the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, Mendel Benoit bet 6,000 and Julien Varin made the call. The turn brought the {A-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {K-Hearts} land on the river. Both players checked again. Benoit showed the {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Varin mucked his hand.

Catch Twenty-Two

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The bustouts keep on coming, and the field has been reduced to just 22 players right now. We're playing down to nine tonight, it looks like.
