Still No Action For ElkY

Level 3 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Bertrand Grospellier: Getting no action here in Cannes
Bertrand Grospellier: Getting no action here in Cannes

"What does a man have to do to get some action around here?" is probably what ElkY is thinking, but in French obviously,

He has just min-raised to 12,000 in three consecutive hands, one from early position, UTG+1 and under the gun and each time he just picked up the blinds and antes. Whilst picking up the third pot he gave a sigh and puffed out his cheeks, but he has just added 81,000 chips to his stack without a fight.

Another Dempsey Double

Level 3 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
James Demspey
James Demspey

There's a pattern of play devolving with James Demsey's day: Get short and quickly double back up.

The action folded to him on the button and he moved all-in for 58,500. Richard Toth was in the small blind and iso-shoved to get it heads up.

Dempsey: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Toth: {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}

The board ran {j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Toth dropped to 250,000 chips after the loss.

Patel Doubles Through Dempsey

Level 3 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Taylor Paur opened from UTG+1 with a raise of 12,000, Tristan Wade and Max Silver folded but Emil Patel made the call. The rest of the table folded to Dempsey who asked how many chips Patel had. "175" was the answer. Dempsey then raised to 36,000, folding out Paur but Patel moved all in and Dempsey snap-called.

Dempsey{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Patel{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The final board ran out {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, Patel climbs to 370,000 whilst Dempsey plummets to 60,000.

Toth Wins Massive Pot That Drags On Into The Break

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Richard Toth opened to 9,000 from middle position and the action folded to Emil Patel on the button. He placed a chip onto his holecards and three-bets to 23,500. Toth called and it was heads up to the flop.

Flop: {7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts} - Both players checked.

Turn: {3-Clubs} - Toth bet 36,000 and was called by Patel.

River: {K-Clubs} - Toth bets 53,000 and Patel asks how manhy chips the Hungarian has behind. Toth complies and counts out 78,000. A minute later and Patel calls.

Toth shows {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} for a set of sevens and Patel mucks his hand.

The players are now on a 20-minute break

Silver uses the Golden Position

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

ElkY raised to 8,500 from early position and Max Silver called from the button, as did Steve O'Dwyer in the big blind.

The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and ElkY's 13,500 c-bet was only called by Silver. The turn came {10-Hearts} and ElkY check-folded to a 20,500 bet from his opponent.

Watson Takes The Lead

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Michael Watson: The man to catch right now
Michael Watson: The man to catch right now

Michael "SirWatts" Watson is out new chip leader after winning yet another pot here at the final table.

Taylor Paur opened to 8,000 under the gun and the action folded to Steve O'Dwyer in the hijack. He asked for confirmation of the bet size and then called, Watson was next to act and he also called. Richard Toth in the big blind came along for the ride too.

The flop came down a very draw heavy {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and everyone checked to Watson who bet 20,000. This was enough to fold out everyone except Toth who tossed in the required chips. The dealer put the {2-Diamonds} onto the turn and Toth checked, Watson bet 45,000 and Toth folded.

Watson is now up to 350,000.

Demsey Doubles in Battle of Britain

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

James Dempsey has recovered from getting relatively short by doubling through countryman Max Silver.

Taylor Paur opened to 8,000 from early position and was called by Silver before Dempsey moved all-in for 85,500 from the big blind. Paur snap-folded but silver called after getting a count.

Silver: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Dempsey: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The board ran {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Spades} to make Demspey a flush. Silver dropped back to around his starting stack.
