2012 World Series of Poker Europe
A French colleague of ours just brought us news of a Phil Hellmuth double up.
He and Govert Metaal saw a seven high flop before all the chips went in. Metaal had pocket kings but had been out flopped by Hellmuth who held pocket sevens.

Noah Schwartz got right back on the horse and doubled up.
He shoved with
and was called by Cheung Fung holding
. The board ran

to safely see his hand hold.
As this hand was happening Justin Bonomo was busting from a nearby table, and Fung herself followed soon after.
Bonomo explained his exit on Twitter:

We found John Juanda with all of his chips in the middle of the table. Noah Schwartz was seated on the other side of the dealer, pondering putting 34,700 into the middle.
With a smile, Juanda was asking if there was anything fun to do in Nice with his girlfriend and son. While he joked that he wanted to be out of the tournament, he was quite pleased to find that when Schwartz called, he was ahead.
Juanda showed
and was crushing Schwartz's
.
The board came down

and Juanda's hand was able to hold, doubling him to about 70,000. Schwartz, on the other hand, has been crippled to about 10,000.

We came across the table to see a flop of

. Andy Frankenberger checked his option from the small blind and Jennifer Tilly moved 10,000 in front of the betting line.
Matt Stout called from across the table and action was back on Frankenberger. He dipped into his stack and came out with a raise to 30,000 total and Tilly quickly got rid of her cards. Stout followed suit and Frankenberger took the pot.
The next hand Frankenberger put in a raise from the button only to be three-bet by Tilly. It folded back to Frankenberger and he called. The two players checked down the flop of

as well as the
on the turn.
When the
struck fifth street, Frankenberger took a stab with a 4,000 bet. Tilly called and Frankenberger showed
for merely nine-high. Tilly showed
for ace-high and took down the pot.

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Joe McGowan have pretty much swapped chip counts after the latter doubled through the former.
Both players had made it to the river of a

board.
McGowan shoved for his remaining 25,000 and ElkY tank-called to be shown
for two pair. The Frenchman mucked as he shook his head and then opened a foil tray of food. I bet that would've tasted so much better if he is call was right.

. Michael Mizrachi was pondering his action and tanked for over ninety seconds.
Eventually Mizrachi released his cards and let Watson take down the pot. Watson is now flirting with one hundred thousand, as he is sitting on 98,000.

Roberto Romanello's chirpy side is coming out to play as he gathered chips.
JC Alvarado opened to 1,700 from under the gun and was three-bet to 4,000 by Matan Krakow in the next seat. Romanello was in the small blind and four-bet to 11,400, with only 4,100 behind.
Alvarado folded before Krakow went into the tank. After a minute or so Romanello started talking to him: "What do you have? Tell me and I'll let you know if I want you to call."
"You'd be really angry if I bust you as you're in really good shape."
He eventually shoved with
and Romanello called off the extra with
. The board ran

to hand the vital pot to Romanello.
While we were back at the desk Mike McDonald busted from the same table.
