Are You Ready for Some High-Flying Six-Handed PLO Action?

Philippe Boucher won this very event last year.
Philippe Boucher won this very event last year.

The sixth annual World Series of Poker Europe continues today at the Casino Barrière in Cannes with the sixth of seven bracelet events, Event #6: €1,650 Six-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha. There's already been one PLO event and one six-handed event here at the WSOP Europe, but this marks the first time this year the two variations have been combined.

In 2011, six-handed PLO was introduced to the schedule and proved to be quite popular as 339 players took to the felt to battle it out for a €124,584 first-place prize. Many players put themselves into position for the title with deep runs including Roberto Romanello (31st-€2,616), Carlos Mortensen (€3,339), Ludovic Lacay (20th-€4,360), Antony Lellouche (12th-€7,629), Bryan Devonshire (8th-€13,948) and Jared Solomon (5th-€26,676), but it was Quebecer Philippe Boucher who defeated Michel Dattani in heads-up play to walk away the victor.

Today's event is expected to draw quite the stacked field, and we already know players like Justin Bonomo, Daniel Negreanu and Kevin MacPhee will be in action.

We'll kick things off in a little under in hour, and the plan for the day is to play eight levels. Join us then as we bring you all the high-octane action from the Event #6 floor at the elegant Majestic Barrière.
