Cajelais Gets There

With 1,300 in the middle and a flop of {3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, a raising war broke out between Erik Cajelais and Etienne Bargibant that resulted in the former being all in for 15,300.

Showdown
Bargibant: {K-Spades}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Cajelais: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{J-Clubs}

Bargibant was ahead with two pair, but Cajelais flopped a wrap. The {5-Spades} turn completed the Canadian's said draw, while the {9-Hearts} river secured him the double.

Shak Sends Failla Packing

We just caught the end of the all in between Will Failla and Dan Shak. The latter had {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{42s}{5-Spades} and beat Failla's {A-}{10-}{10-}{6-} when the board ran out {2-}{q-}{4-}{5-}{4-}.

Shak is doing very well while Failla made his way to the exit.

Kravchekno's Day is Done; Mercier's Just Beginning

We didn't catch the action, but we do know that Alexander Kravchenko was just eliminated in a hand that was chopped by Micah Smith and Rocco Palumbo. The board read {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs} and here's what the players had laid out in front of them:

Showdown
Kravchenko: {8-Spades}{10-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Smith: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Palumbo: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Meanwhile, Jason Mercier, coming straight from the conclusion of Event #5: €10,450 Mixed Max - No-Limit Hold'em Day 2, has entered the field.

Eliminé

That's French for 'eliminated', and that's what the following players are.

WSOPE 2012: Steve Dannenmann at the Table with Joe Hachem

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Though he busted just before dinner, we thought you'd enjoy this video with Steve Dannenmann, who had once again shared a table with Joe Hachem. Sarah Grant talked to Steve about what he has been up to and what brings him to Cannes.

Timex Wins Nice Pot with Top Set

On a flop of {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Amir Said managed to get his stack of 7,000 in the middle and was in bad shape against Mike "Timex" McDonald.

Showdown
McDonald: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Said: {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}

McDonald was well out in front with top set and stayed there as neither the {K-Hearts} turn nor {Q-Clubs} river changed a thing.

Ivey Busts on Second Hand

As we headed out to the tournament field, Phil Ivey passed us headed in the opposite direction. He came from Table 19 so we made our way over and discovered that Ivey, who had late registered for the tournament, busted on just the second hand he played to McLean Karr.

According to Karr, Ivey raised to 600 in the hand and received a call from the cutoff. Karr then three-bet to 2,000, just Ivey called, and then the two got the money in on the flop. Ivey held a flush draw with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{3-Spades}, but wouldn't get there as Karr's {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} proved victorious.
