Down to the River for Adams

Timothy Adams doubles through Phil Hellmuth
Timothy Adams doubles through Phil Hellmuth

Action folded to a short-stacked Timothy Adams in the cutoff and he moved all in for 157,000. Phil Hellmuth made a quick call from the button, the blinds folded, and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Hellmuth: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Adams: {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Hellmuth had Adams dominated, and the spectators and media leaned in close for the flop, which came down {9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}. The {8-Spades} on the turn meant Adams needed a ten on the river to stay alive, and wouldn't you know it, the {10-Hearts} spiked. Adams' supported let out a cheer while Hellmuth remained motionless staring at the board.

Scott Seiver Eliminated in 10th Place (€66,528)

Scott Seiver - 10th Place
Scott Seiver - 10th Place

Jason Mercier opened with a min-raise from the cutoff before the flop and was called by Scott Seiver from the button and Paul Tedeschi from the big blind.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and Tedeschi checked to Mercier who continued out for 38,000. Seiver called and Tedeschi folded. The {J-Hearts} fell on fourth street and Mercier continued for 70,000. Seiver called once again.

The {3-Clubs} completed the board and Mercier moved Seiver all in. Seiver ripped his headphones off his head and made what looked to be quite the tough decision. Eventually he called and Mercier showed {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Seiver mucked his hand and was eliminated in 10th place.

Nicolas Cardyn Eliminated in 11th Place (€52,416)

Nicolas Cardyn - 11th
Nicolas Cardyn - 11th

Phil Hellmuth opened for 50,000 under the gun and was met with an all-in three-bet to 153,000 from Nicolas Cardyn on the button. Both blinds folded, Hellmuth asked for a count, and then he committed the chips to put Cardyn at risk.

Showdown
Cardyn: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Hellmuth: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Hellmuth had Cardyn crushed, and he would put an end to the Frenchman's Main Event run in 11th place after the board ran out {Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Spades}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs}. The remaining ten players will now play two five-handed tables until we get down to nine, at which point they'll combine and play the unofficial final table.

UEFA Champions League promotion from PartyPoker

PartyPoker have launched a fantastic promotion that will see someone — hopefully you — walk away with two tickets to the Manchester United versus Braga UEFA Champions League match on October 23, 2012, plus expenses thrown in for good measure!

The lucky winner of this promotion will receive two tickets to the match, travel expenses and Legendary Treble Suite hospitality.

In order to have a chance at getting your hands on this fantastic prize, all you have to do is share a screenshot of a poker hand on the PokerNews Facebook Page. Really, it's that simple.

Play poker at a real-money table on PartyPoker during September 24 and October 7, 2012, and be prepared to take a screenshot of anything you think may be interesting. If you are involved in a hand that is a huge cooler, then take a screenshot of it. Have you just witnessed a horrible bad beat? Then share it with the world. The owner of the screenshot with the most likes will win the package.

All we ask is that the screen shot be at least 800x600 in resolution and that it has all of the core elements — username and hand number — recognizable, that the action the screenshot is portraying takes place between September 24 and October 7 and that the screenshot is genuine and has not been altered regarding its content. Only the player who played the hand in the screenshot is allowed to share the picture and therefore eligible for the prize.

PokerNews would like to wish you all the very best of luck and we cannot wait to see the images that you submit!

Seiver Wins The Race to Double

Action folded to Jason Mercier who limped on the button. Scott Seiver shipped all in for 177,000 from the small blind and Phil Hellmuth folded his big blind. Mercier snap called and the hands were shown:

Seiver: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Mercier: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board fell down {8-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Seiver's nines were able to hold, securing him a double up.
