Bicknell Doubles

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A player opened in middle position to 6,000, and Kristen Bicknell took some time to count down her stack before shoving from the big blind. It was 36,500 and her opponent called after he got the count.

Bicknell: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The race went Bicknell's way as she hit two pair on the {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board.

Granov Bursts Bubble With Quads

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Daniel Granov
Daniel Granov

We didn't see the action, but as related by a player at the table, a player bet 10,000 from early position on a {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop, Daniel Granov called, and a third player moved all in. The bettor committed the requisite chips and proceeded to get stacks in against Granov, who had flopped trips with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The bettor had an overpair with {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} and everyone was behind the third player, who had {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a boat.

The turn was an {a-Diamonds} and the river the {9-Spades}, bringing quads for Granov and a better full house for the player with jacks. Granov covered everyone though and the double elimination means the tournament is in the money.

Spets Limps a Big One

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Age Spets limped in from middle position and Rex Clinkscales followed suit on his left. The next player shipped it for about 30,000 from the cutoff. After the next three players mucked, Spets immediately reshoved, chasing Clinkscales.

Spegs: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, keeping the tens best.

Troyanovskiy Sunk by Bad Beat

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Vladimir Troyanovskiy got his last 25,000 or so in preflop from the big blind with {a-}{9-} and had an opponent in the cutoff with {k-Spades}{9-Spades} dominated. Unfortunately for Troyanovskiy, a king-high flop hit and he lost all but his last 600, which was forced in the middle the following hand en route to his elimination.

Eilertsen Finds a Six-Ball

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Eilert Eilertsen called off his 21,100 in the big blind after the small blind moved all in preflop. Eilertsen was dominated with {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} against {a-}{9-} but the board ran out {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, much to the disgust of the small blind. Eilertsen doubled through and someone went bust at another table, so the remaining 27 players are drawing new seats.
