Welcome back to the World Series of Poker Europe here in King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. At 3 PM local time, Day 2 of Event #1: €550 COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold'em will restart with 296 remaining players from all eight starting flight combining for the first time. They will all compete to make it through to the final day tomorrow, Monday, October 15. The €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool was exceeded as a total number of 2,992 entries were attracted to create the final prize pool of €1,435,412!

One thing is for sure, this year’s WSOPE COLOSSUS winner will be a new one as the defending champion, Matous Skorepa was in the running for a while to try to make it two in a row but no luck came his way as he busted his second bullet in the final hand of Day 1H. Another player who knows how it feels to win the COLOSSUS is Cord Garcia but he couldn’t find a bag for Day 2 either.

The player leading the rest right now is Day 1F chip leader Nico Mussini with 918,000 which is worth 115 big blinds. Mussini is seated at Table #94 and if you’d exclude him, the average number of big blinds on the table would be 24.5. But as it’s the COLOSSUS, anything can happen, and action is expected to be fast-paced from the start as everyone is already in the money.

Trailing Mussini in second place is Jan Bendik with 822,000. The Slovakian number one on the all-time money list cashed in the COLOSSUS here last year too but didn’t make Day 2, so he’s looking to do much better already. Michael Mandl closes the podium for today with 801,000 as the Day 1H chip leader. Mandl is seated at the same table as the Day 1A chip leader Dariusz Glinski and another big stack held by Netanel Amedi who made it through on day 1G.

Day 1B chip leader Sebastian Kos is on the same table as the Italian trio, Giovanni Grella, Nicola Stagi, and Maurizio Cola. Day 1C chip leader Daniel Prior is sharing table space with Aleksandar Denishev, Vojtech Susta, Jakub Senk, and Pascal Drexel. Jan Bednar bagged the Day 1D chip lead and is seated with players like Elbert Petersen, Sandor Ambrus, Enrico Grella, and Joseph Nassar.

Aleksandr Merzhvinskiy took the Day 1D chip lead and will be starting the day with Jasper van ‘t Hoff, Mourad Idrissi, Leandro Dirlewanger, and Samija Nasic. Day 1G chip leader Daniel Boros will be taking on Giorgi Mevlupishvili, Rytas Staniukynas, Hannes Neurauter, Georgios Sefertzis, and Ricardo Chauriye on his table.

Day 2 will commence with 19 minutes left in Level 18 with a small blind of 4,000, big blind of 8,000 and a big blind ante of 8,000. Level duration will increase to 40 minutes and a 15-minute break will take place after every three levels. A 0-minute dinner break is scheduled after the ninth full level of play, which should be around 10 PM but this is subject to change. Play will end when the final table has been reached.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be roaming the tournament area to bring you all the action from the first card dealt until the final bag has been sealed for the night, so make sure to come back to follow all the updates!
