Renato Kaneoya

A preflop raising war ended with Brazil's Renato Kaneoya all in and at risk for around 90,000, and he faced Vladimir Valent in the below showdown:

Renato Kaneoya: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Vladimir Valent: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Kaneoya failed to pick up any help whatsoever to join the rail before the money on Day 1B.

Nasty Beat for Sun

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Yunsheng Sun
Yunsheng Sun

Yunsheng Sun and Timo Vogt ended up all in and at risk for nearly identical short stacks and it was Sun that was the player at risk.

Yunsheng Sun: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Timo Vogt: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop seemingly secured the double for the player from China, however, the cruel {K-Spades} turn and {Q-Spades} river improved Vogt to the nut straight.

Dutch Boyd
Dutch Boyd

James Bullimore and Dutch Boyd were eliminated soon after coming back from the break, the latter ending up second-best in a battle of the blinds against Krasimir Yankov.

Vojtech Skalak was more fortunate when he doubled through Timo Kamphues for his last 51,000. Skalak held {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Kamphues had the {K-Spades}{10-Spades}. The board came {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Skalak hit the nut flush.

Houzvicek Doubles Soyza

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Matous Houzvicek
Matous Houzvicek

Michael Soyza has taken over the role of table chip leader from Matous Houzvicek and was kind enough to provide the details as to what happened in the big clash between them. According to Soyza, he raised to 7,000 in the hijack and called Houzvicek's three-bet to 28,000 in the big blind. On the {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, Houzvicek check-raised all in and Soyza called for 89,200 with {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a big draw.

Houzvicek held {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and the {K-Clubs} turn immediately improved Soyza, who didn't need the {8-Clubs} river anymore.

Soyza Sends Prior to the Rail

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Daniel Prior
Daniel Prior

The Day 1B field has been reduced to the final 40 hopefuls as Daniel prior and [Removed:335] both departed at almost the same time from different tables. Prior open-shoved for 23,900 first to act and Michael Soyza in the small blind asked for a count before reshoving.

Daniel Prior: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Michael Soyza: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop was no threat yet, but Soyza turned a flush draw with the {K-Diamonds}. Instead of a diamond, it was the {A-Spades} that appeared on the river and sent Prior to the rail before the money.

Boyd Pays Off Valent

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

On the river of a board {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Dutch Boyd bet 16,000 and then faced a raise by Vladimir Valent. Boyd was deep in the think tank and the clock was called on him. With essentially the very last second of his extra time given by floor staff, Boyd tossed in the chips and Valent asked "what was that?"

Floor staff confirmed it was a call and Valent rolled over {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} for the nut flush to claim the pot.
