Oghabian Flops the Nuts; Cannot Hold

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Milad Oghabian
Milad Oghabian

The flop showed {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Tomas Petru, as well as Milad Oghabian, had checked out of the blinds. Pavel Kovalenko in late position bet 1,700 and Petru check-raised to 4,300. Oghbanian eyed the stack of his table neighbor carefully and moved all in, which forced an instant fold from Kovalenko.

Petru called it off and was at risk with the {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for middle pair and the nut flush draw. Oghabian had a big blind special with {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for the flopped straight only to see his hand fail to hold up on the {2-Clubs} turn and {10-Hearts} river. Petru doubled for 13,700 and put a dent into Oghabian's stack.

Zyrin takes From Della Longa

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

On the heads-up turn of {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Anatolii Zyrin checked and called a bet of 3,300 by Davide Della Longa on the button. The {4-Hearts} river was checked by Zyrin and Della Longa opted to check behind. Zyrin revealed {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens and that won the pot, leaving Della Longa with just shy of one third of the starting stack.

The First Break on Day 1D

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Peter Kamaras arrived just when the Day 1D field was sent into the first 15-minute break of the day with 102 players out of 117 entries remaining.

"What happened?" Kamaras asked when noticing the big stack of Rakesh Lalwani.

"One guy went all in with top pair and there was only 8,000 in the middle. I hit sets against two pair, nut flush," Lalwani explained and the Indian is the chip leader after level four with nearly four times the starting stack.

Magistro Doubles

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Over on table 80, Marco Magistro was all in and at risk for 9,200 on the {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop and his opponent looked him up with the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. Magistro held {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and the {10-Clubs} turn and {3-Spades} river changed nothing anymore.

New in Day 1D is Michael Eiler on the very same table, Jaroslav Peter and Allen Kessler also re-entered.

Kovalenko Eliminated by Buzan

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Pavel Kovalenko
Pavel Kovalenko

Adrian Buzan raised from under the gun and Pavel Kovalenko stuck around on the button to see the flop of {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Buzan checked, Kovalenko bet 1,000 and was called by big stack Buzan.

On the {6-Clubs} turn, Buzan check-called a second bet worth 2,500 and then checked the {3-Diamonds} on the river. Kovalenko bet 6,000 with around 10,000 behind and Buzan then moved all in.

After brief consideration, Kovalenko called and Buzan rolled over {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a runner-runner straight. Kovalenko was stunned and slowly turned over his {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for flopped top two pair before slowly tossing his remaining chips to the dealer and leaving the table without a word.

Rus Chips Up; Takes a Hit

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Adrian Rus had already more than doubled his stack and would have been near the chip lead if he had not lost a chunky pot just now. Rus rivered a straight with {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} on the board {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} only to see his opponent turn over {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for the full house.
