Filatov Takes Speranza Out

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Gianluca Speranza
Gianluca Speranza

Mihail Mazilu had opened from under the gun and Anatoly Filatov three-bet to 12,000 from the hijack. Gianluca Speranza, who finished as the runner-up in this event last year, shoved for 39,300 from the small blind. Mazilu folded and Filatov considered it for a while before making the call.

Gianluca Speranza: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Anatoly Filatov: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} with the queen in the window for Filatov to hit a pair of queens and improve to two pair on the river to eliminate Speranza.

Over on the other tables, Vlad Darie and Philipp Zukernik were eliminated too.
