Deeb Clashes With Katzenberger, Doubles Wiecek

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Shaun Deeb has tumbled down the leaderboard after a series of clashes with Viktor Katzenberg that moved the latter up to around 150,000. According to Leo Armino, who's seated at the same table, in the final hand that transpired just before we arrived, it was a three-bet pot where Deeb got it in with {10-}{7-} on a {10-}{8-}{6-}{J-} board against Katzenberger's {A-}{J-}. Katzenberg held up for a big double to leave Deeb behind with 51,000.

In the hand directly after, Piotr Wiecek opened on the button, Deeb three-bet shoved from the big blind and Wiecek called all in for 21,200.

Piotr Wiecek: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Shaun Deeb: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Board: {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

There was no sweat for Wiecek as he scored an easy double-up at Deeb's expense

Daniel Rezaei

Austrian Daniel Rezaei, fresh off a final table at the £1,100 partypoker MILLIONS UK Open, saw a {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop with Ghassan Bitar. It was Bitar who got it in for 15,000 or so and Rezaei who called it off.

Ghassan Bitar: {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Daniel Rezaei: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}

The {K-Diamonds} on the turn instantly ended the hand and Rezaei crossed the 100k mark.

Silberstein Sticks, Gets There

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

On a {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, Joseph Nassar bet 2,500 and Julie Silberstein was the only caller on the button. Silberstein also called a 4,000 bet on the {K-Clubs} turn before both players checked the {Q-Clubs} on the river.

Nassar had {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts} but Silberstein showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the rivered straight to take down the pot.

Speranza Shuts Down

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

With the board reading {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Gianluca Speranza was in the big blind and facing a bet of 4,500 from Matous Houzvicek on the button. Speranza opted for a check-raise to 14,000, which Houzvicek called.

The river brought the {K-Diamonds} and both players checked. Speranza showed {8-Spades}{6-Spades} for busted straight and flush draws, Houzvicek tabled {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a pair of queens and raked in the pot to Speranza's visible dismay.
