A Set Earns Begovic the KO

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Roman Svab shipped all in for 120,000 in early position and was called by Amar Begovic on the button and Aleksei Ivanov in the small blind. The flop came {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and both remaining players checked to the {4-Diamonds} on the turn.

Ivanov checked again and then quickly folded when Begovic tossed in a bet. Svab flipped over {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} but Begovic turned a set of fours with {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}. The river was the {j-Spades} and Svab was eliminated.

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Quan Zhou raised to 37,000 from the button and Markus Steger shoved in the small blind. Zhou asked for a count and the dealer confirmed Steger had 191,000 behind. Markus Steger: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Quan Zhou: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Ivanov Almost Hits a Straight Flush

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Aleksei Ivanov and Manish Goenka were all-in and heads-up and Ivanov was at risk with the shorter stack of 222,000.

Aleksei Ivanov: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Manish Goenka: {A-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for Ivanov to hit a straight draw.

The turn was the {j-Hearts} to give Ivanov the straight indeed but he could also improve to the straight flush or normal flush. Goenka was looking for the king to give him the broadway but the {9-Clubs} on the river kept Ivanov ahead to double up.

Goenka was left behind with less than 8 big blinds which he lost shortly after.

Walker and Ivanov Eliminated

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Aleksei Ivanov raised to 115,000 in the hijack and Henrik Brockmann shipped all in for 437,000 on the button. James Walker was in the small blind and called off his last 430,000. Ivanov only had 15,000 chips remaining but waited to see if he could score a pay jump before sticking his last chips in the middle.

Henrik Brockmann: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
James Walker: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Aleksei Ivanov: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The flop of {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} left Brockmann in charge along with the largest stack. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn gave Ivanov some hope but the {q-Hearts} on the river brought the tournament down to the final three tables.

Barna Puts his Short Stack to Use

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Amar Begovic raised to 45,000 in the cutoff and Yuriy Barna jammed all in for 138,000 in the small blind. Begovic got a quick count and then called to find out he was dominated preflop.

Yuriy Barna: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Amar Begovic: {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The flop fell {k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} leaving little hope for Begovic. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn gave him a straight draw but the {9-Clubs} on the river wasn't going to cut it. Barna scored a double up but it was just a small dent in the stack of Begovic.
