Higgs In the Profit

Level 2 : 2,000/3,000, 5,000 ante

Sam Higgs has split up his stack with 1 million on the left side and the smaller chips in profit on the right, and he appears to be the early chip leader. In a recent Seven Card Stud hand, he took on Shaun Deeb and scooped the pot without showdown.

Seven Card Stud

Shaun Deeb: {x-}{x-} / {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{k-Spades} / {x-}
Sam Higgs: {x-}{x-} 7 {10-Spades}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} / {x-}

Higgs bet fourth and seventh street while fifth and sixth were checked. Deeb was contemplating a call on seventh as both had a pair of kings showing and eventually folded.

Martini Gets Some Back From Hellmuth

Level 2 : 2,000/3,000, 5,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Julien Martini in the cutoff and Phil Hellmuth on the button had multiple bets for 72,000 each in total invested throughout a board of {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and the final bet of Martini was called by Hellmuth.

Martini tabled {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a full house and Hellmuth was clearly upset.

"I had much better than a flush draw," he said in table chat and lost a portion of his previous profit against Martini.
