Kings are Good for Loeser This Time

Level 11 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Manig Loeser raised it up in early position and Dominik Nitsche shoved all in for around 2,500,000 on his left. The action folded back to Loeser who instantly called to put Nitsche at risk.

Manig Loeser: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Dominik Nitsche: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Loeser was in a healthy lead this time with his pocket kings and the flop of {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} put even further ahead. The {8-Diamonds} on the turn and the {5-Clubs} on the river changed nothing as Nitsche was eliminated for the third time.

Aces vs Kings Again

Level 11 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Netanel Amedi
Netanel Amedi

It's a poker player's dream scenario to pick up aces against their opponent's kings and get all of the chips as in a heavy favorite. That has become a common occurrence through the first two-plus levels on Day 2 of the €100,000 Diamond High Roller which has resulted in a lot of chips being passed around and a lot of re-entries.

The latest casualty was Netanel Amedi when he just called a raise in the big blind from Danny Tang in the cutoff. The flop came {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} and the two players got all of the chips in the middle on the flop with Amedi at risk for just over 3,000,000 chips.

Tang flipped over {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} which was ahead of Amedi's {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. The {4-Hearts} and {10-Diamonds} runout would not be enough to save Amedi who was bounced from the tournament.

Vogelsang Busts Becker

Level 11 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang raised from the hijack and Johannes Becker three-bet in the cutoff. Action folded back to Vogelsang who four-bet shoved and Becker snap-called with the shorter stack.

Johannes Becker: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Christoph Vogelsang: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for Vogelsang to turn a flush to bust Becker.

Grafton Pays Two Double-Ups

Level 11 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Rainer Kempe just doubled up through Sam Grafton with {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} on the {2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} board to bring him back to almost starting stack.

The hand after, Tony G shoved from the cutoff for 475,000 and was called by Grafton in the big blind.

Tony G: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Sam Grafton: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for Tony to improve to a better full house to double up.

All-In and Call

Level 11 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

With each re-entry into the tournament, a starting stack is only worth 25 big blinds and that will soon become 20 big blinds when the level goes up in about 15 minutes. That is creating a lot of short-stacked poker for certain players and there seems to be an all in and call every other hand.

Rainer Kempe pushed all-in for 750,000 in the cutoff and Adrian Mateos called from the big blind. Kempe held {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and was likely going to chop with Mateos who had {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. However, the runout of {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} gave Mateos a pair of fives and Kempe was eliminated.

In the next hand, the action folded to Mateos in the small blind who shoved all in. James Chen was in the big blind with a stack of 1,540,000 and he thought for a moment before looking at his watch and making the decision to call.

Mateos turned over {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Chen was currently in the lead with {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. The board ran out {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} which missed both players and Chen scored a double up.
