Vogelsang Doubles Through Chen

Christoph Vogelsang opened to 2,400,000 with the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and James Chen called out of the big blind with the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} in the final hand of the level. The flop brought {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Chen quickly checked while staring over to his table neighbor.

Vogelsang tossed in a continuation bet of 1,800,000 and Chen opted for a check-raise to 6,000, which Vogelsang called. After the {j-Hearts} turn, Chen made it 8,500,000 to go and Vogelsang called with 13,700,000 behind to see the {3-Diamonds} on the river.

Chen pushed all in and a snap-call by Vogelsang within two seconds followed to establish a new commanding chip leader.

Lim Forces Chen Out of a Chop

James Chen raised to 2,600,000 in the cutoff with {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Chin Wei Lim called in the small blind with an inferior {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The flop came {q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and both players checked to the {3-Diamonds} on the turn.

Two more checks saw the {q-Spades} double-pair the board on the river. Lim led out for a bet of 2,500,000 and Chen actually threw his cards in the muck to allow Chin to take the pot.

Ryan Riess Eliminated on the Bubble

Ryan Riess was down to under 10 big blind and shoved all in for 11,600,000 in the cutoff. Tony G instantly re-shoved all in on the button and was in a dominating position.

The flop came {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Riess picked up some chop outs. The {9-Hearts} on the turn provided a few more chop outs but the {10-Hearts} on the river sent Riess to the rail and Tony G into a frenzy.

Tony G is the Captain

Christoph Vogelsang opened to 2,600,000 in the hijack with {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Tony G defended from the big blind with {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The flop came {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and both players flopped a pair. Both players checked and the {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Neither player had a diamond in their hand and they both checked once more. The river brought the {10-Spades} and Tony G checked for the third time. Vogelsang announced a bet of 3,400,000 and Tony G snap-called to win the pot.

"What are you doing checking all of the way? What are you waiting for?" Tony G needled. "I'm the captain!"

Vogelsang Pulls Further Ahead of Chen

Cary Katz folded the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and James Chen limped the small blind with the {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Christoph Vogelsang checked his option with {q-Spades}{7-Spades}. They checked the {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop and the {k-Diamonds} turn. After the {q-Hearts} river, Chen checked once more and Vogelsang bet 2,600,000.

Chen gave it some consideration and opted to fold.

The flop came {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Tony G started with a check. Chen fired out a bet of 2,500,000 after flopping top pair and Tony G flicked his cards to the muck.

Tony G Escapes Flipping for His Tournament

Cary Katz raised iot up to 2,500,000 from under the gun with {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Tony G three-bet shoved all in from the cutoff with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. The action was back on Katz who went into the tank for a minute before eventually laying down the best hand.

Nitsche is the First to Hit the Rail

Dominik Nitsche was down to just 14,600,000 and ripped all in from middle position. Chin Wei Lim woke up with a monster on the button and re-shoved all in. The blinds quickly folded and it turned out to be a classic flip.

The flop fell {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} to give Lim a set of queens and Nitsche a straight draw. The {2-Hearts} paired the board on the turn and Lim made a full house. Nitsche was drawing dead to the {6-Diamonds} on the river and Nitsche went from the chip leader to the first player eliminated.
