Sandvik Eliminates Two; Field on the Bubble

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra

Espen Sandvik eliminated both Bruno Stefanelli and Eli Elezra to bring the field to the bubble.

First, Bruno Stefanelli was left short and lost the last of his chips in a 2-7 Triple Draw hand against Sandvik.

A couple of hands later, the game changed to No-Limit Hold'em and Eli Elezra was the one at risk. Elezra had 200,000 for around 13 blinds and shoved first to act. Sandvik was in the small blind and reshoved all in.

Eli Elezra: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Espen Sandvik: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

"Nice bubble for me," Elezra said while getting up from his seat. The dealer brought an unexpected sweat on the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, giving a flush draw and a gutshot to Elezra.

The {9-Spades} on the turn and the {10-Diamonds} on the river weren't the cards that Elezra needed to see and the field was left with 12 players.

Phil Hellmuth

Stud Hi-Lo

In the previous hand, on fifth street, Hellmuth had {3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Ville Haavisto {7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades} showing. Hellmuth bet himself after calling the earlier streets and Haavisto folded.

In the next hand, Hellmuth limped a nine after Haavisto brought it in with the {6-Clubs}.

Phil Hellmuth: {x-}{x-} / {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{j-Hearts} / {x-}
Ville Haavisto: {x-}{x-} / {6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} / {x-}

Hellmuth bet fourth and fifth street before check-calling on sixth and seventh. Haavisto showed {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for two pair and Hellmuth shot out of his seat. He stared at his cards, then the board, then his cards again before flinging them into the muck with much dismay.
