To Pay Or Not To Pay

Level 26 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Rifat Palevic opened to 250,000 on the button and Dario Sammartino called out of the big blind. They checked the {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop and the {j-Spades} turn. Sammartino then bet the {7-Spades} river for 375,000 and Palevic was trying to get some information in table chat that lasted more than 90 seconds.

Eventually, Sammartino concluded, "my motto is pay money and see the card." Palevic sent his cards into the muck and admitted that he "should have bet the flop." While Palevic remains at nearly 50 big blinds, Sammartini has nearly double of that and dominates the early action on the outer table.
