Flop Bet Wins it for Pescatori

Level 1 : 300/500, 800 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Max Pescatori had joked at the start he would be re-entering at least five times and then announced a rebuy after some five minutes even though they had barely completed the first orbit. Alas, there was no seat open by any means.

Pescatori then raised from under the gun and Jorge Ufano defended the big blind. The Spaniard check-called a bet of 1,100 on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop and check-folded the {10-Hearts} turn when Pescatori bet 1,600.

Schoss Takes First Pot

Level 1 : 300/500, 800 ante

2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

Will Shillibier raised in the cutoff and was called by Stefan Schoss on the button and Adam Dickson in the big blind. On the first draw, Dickson took three while his opponents took two each. It checked to Schoss and he bet for both Dickson and Shillibier to call.

On the second draw, Schoss took one while Dickson and Shillibier took two each. It checked to Schoss and his bet won the pot uncontested.

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #12: €2,000 8-Game Mix

Espen Sandvik

The 2021 World Series of Poker Europe will be calling for mixed game aficionados from near and far to enter the fray in Event #12: €2,000 8-Game Mix, which gets underway at 10 a.m. local time. Eight different poker variants will be part of the rotation and the tournament is played in a six-handed format in Europe's biggest poker arena at the King's Resort in Rozvadov.

Two years ago in 2019, the very same tournament drew a field of 72 entries and created a prize pool of €237,500. Norway's Espen Sandvik came out on top of a Scandinavian heads-up duel with Ville Haavisto while Phil Hellmuth was denied another bracelet and finished in 3rd place. Sandvik collected €75,426 and a maiden gold bracelet for his efforts and will very likely be back to defend his title as he has already been playing in other events of the ongoing festival.

The following events are part of the rotation: No-Limit Hold’em; Seven Card Stud; Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Razz; Pot-Limit Omaha; Limit Hold’em; Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better; 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw.

Each variant will be played for six hands before switching to the next one and the levels will last 30 minutes each. Up to 21 levels are scheduled for Day 1, depending on the field size, and the late registration will be open for the first nine levels and following break. Unlimited re-entries are available for all those that lose their entire starting stack of 50,000 in chips.

The blinds in the first level will be 500-1,000 and 25 big bets will be available in the big bet and stud variants.

Stay tuned for all the mixed game action at the King's Resort, as the PokerNews team will be on the floor to cover all the action from start to finish.
