Ricci Chips Up Further

Level 2 : 200/400, 400 ante

Andrea Ricci opened to 1,100 and Diego Pozzolini three-bet to 3,600, which Volkan Alkan in the big blind and Ricci both called. On the {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, Pozzolini continued for 5,400 and earned two calls.

The {a-Hearts} turn was checked and Alkan also checked the {5-Spades} on the river. Ricci now bet 10,000 and Pozzolini folded while Alkan tank-called. He was shown the {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for aces and nines by Ricci, which was good enough to win the pot.

Penev and Tran Go to Battle Again

Level 2 : 200/400, 400 ante
Ft group picture Final table
Ft group picture Final table

Tony Tran and Zlatin Penev just came off the final table of Event #11: €1,650 NLH 6-Max yesterday and they have now drawn the same table today in the Main Event. The two have some history with Penev constantly three-betting Tran but the American said he had something in store for Penev.

On the first hand for Tran, he raised it up in middle position and Penev once again stuck in a three-bet to 4,500 from the small blind. Tran four-bet to 18,400 and Penev called to see a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Both players checked to the {k-Hearts} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} on the river. Penev finally stuck in a bet of 24,000 on the river and Tran thought about it briefly but decided to send his cards to the muck.

Rotman Chips Up in Three-Way Action

Level 2 : 200/400, 400 ante

Stanislav Koleno raised and then called a three-bet by Nicolas Rotman for 3,500 on the button, as did Henri Toussaint in the small blind. The {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop was checked to Rotman and he bet 6,500 to win the pot.

"Eights?!" Koleno guessed and Rotman flashed the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

Konowitz Wins a Small Pot

Level 2 : 200/400, 400 ante

Frederic Konowitz opened to 1,000 in early position and Friedrich Raz three-bet to 3,300 on his left. Sastza Schwaederle called on the button and Konowitz called as well.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Raz continued with a bet of 3,500. Schwaederle folded but Konowitz stuck around to see the {3-Diamonds} on the turn. Both players checked and the {a-Spades} completed the board.

Konowitz checked again and Raz quickly checked it back. Konowitz flipped over {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Raz was unable to beat it.

Mothes Takes Some From Heizmann

Level 2 : 200/400, 400 ante

Joining the action on the {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Pierre Mothes made it 4,000 to go and was called only by Stefan Heizmann. The {j-Spades} turn was checked and Heizmann opted to lead the {j-Hearts} river for 6,000. Mothes made the call and Heizmann surrendered the pot by sending his cards into the muck.
