Mateos Shows the Bigger Pair
Level 1
: Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Erik Borkvik was involved in a pot with Adrian Mateos. On the flop of 7♦Q♣8♣, Borkvik checked and Mateos bet 800 into the pot of 2,400. Borkvik made the call and check-called Mateos' bet of 3,000 on the 2♠ turn as well.
The 10♠ river then caused both players to check, leading to a showdown. Borkvik showed K♦8♦ for a pair of eights, but Matoes played Q♠J♠ for a pair of jacks and added some chips to his stack.
