Drokin Doubles Through Fratini

Level 21 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Volodymyr Drokin raised on the button and action folded to Michele Fratini, in the big blind, who raised enough to put Drokin all in for his last 385,000. Drokin called and a showdown was held.

Volodymyr Drokin: AJ
Michele Fratini: K10

The 78Q79 runout failed to improve Fratini and Drokin doubled up with his ace-high kicker.

Stagliano Doubles With Aces

Level 21 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

From the cutoff, Giovanni Stagliano shoved for his last 90,000 chips. The button and the small blind folded, but Daniel Lehmann in the big blind made the call.

Giovanni Stagliano: AA
Daniel Lehmann: 102

Stagliano found aces at the right moment. But they could still split after the flop 456 and the turn 7. The J completed the board and didn't change anything, so Stagliano doubled up.

Poddubnii Makes Koller Commit Last Chips

Level 21 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 2JA, Ran Koller bet 40,000 from early position and Artiom Poddubnii called in the big blind.

The turn came the Q and Koller bet another 180,000. Poddubnii again called and the 2 fell on the river. Koller then slid forward a bet of 580,000, leaving around 50,000 behind.

Poddubnii instantly moved all in and Koller grimaced before tossing in his last chips. Poddubnii showed K10 for the turned straight and Koller tossed QJ into the muck as the WSOP bracelet winner headed to the rail.

Wheeler Makes The Right Call

Level 21 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

Jason Wheeler opened to 65,000 from the hijack and found one caller in Xhavit Berisha in the big blind.

Berisha check-called a 55,000 bet from Wheeler on the 8J7 flop and a 155,000 bet from Wheeler on the 3 turn.

The A completed the board and Berisha led out for 325,000, sending Wheeler into the tank.

Wheeler eventually put in calling chips and Berisha could only table 96 for a busted straight draw. Wheeler turned over JJ for a set of jacks and collected the large pot.

Almost Back In the Game

Level 21 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Both in middle positions, Mohammed Boudazdit and Ladislav Kellner moved all in preflop, with Kellner being the one at risk for 1,190,000 chips.

Ladislav Kellner: AA
Mohammed Boudazdit: QQ

Boudazdit couldn't do much against Kellner's aces. So after the board 26844, Kellner doubled up.

Down to 95,000, Boudazdit shoved in the next hand, and Mikkel Plum called from the big blind.

Mohammed Boudazdit: AJ
Mikkel Plum: 53

Plum had a flush draw on J2K10. But the river A didn't complete it, so Boudazdit doubled up. "Three more, and I'm back in the game," he said.

And Boudazdit didn't wait, as he jammed again one hand later. Plum called again, this time from the small blind.

Mohammed Boudazdit: 109
Mikkel Plum: A8

"I lost this time," said Boudazdit when he flipped his cards. And he was right because Plum hit the nut flush directly on the flop on a board of 6J787, leading to Boudazdit's elimination.

Salerno Catches a Running Straight to Bust Lakatosh

Level 21 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Elia Salerno
Elia Salerno

Mykola Lakatosh moved all in for 80,000 in middle position and both Elia Salerno in the cutoff and big blind Martino Cito called.

Salerno and Cito checked to the river on a board of Q3JK9 when Salerno bet 115,000. Cito quickly folded.

Lakatosh started getting up from his seat, recognizing that he was likely beat as he turned over AJ. His instincts were correct, as Salerno showed J10 for a straight to win the pot.

Start-of-day chip leader Peter Kamaras is also at this table.
