Final Break of Day 1

Level 12 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Forty players remain, and they have been sent on their last 20-minute break of the day. When they return, they will play two more 40-minute levels before they bag and tag for Day 2.

Montone Spikes the Spades

Level 12 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Patrik Jaros raised enough on the button to put both opponents in the blinds all in, with Diego Montone agreeing to commit his stack in the big blind.

Diego Montone: A7
Patrik Jaros: 88

Montone was looking for help and found a flush draw on the 45J flop. That was quickly filled on the Q turn, leaving Jaros drawing dead as the 4 completed the board.

Montone doubled his stack through Jaros just before the last break of the night.

Angelou-Konstas Has a Flush

Level 12 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Ioannis Angelou-Konstas checked from the small blind on a board of Q723. Jonas Hagstrom sat under the gun and made a bet of 45,000 into the pot of 155,000. Angelou-Konstas followed with a call and the 8 river rolled off.

Angelou-Konstas checked again and was faced with a bet of 85,000 from Hagstrom. He mulled it over for a bit before putting in a raise to 225,000 chips, only leaving 26,000 back. Hagstrom sighed but made a relatively quick call, only to be shown K9 by Aneglou-Konstas for the king-high flush.

Hagstrom swiftly mucked his cards and was left with less than a starting stack.

Rezaei Joins the Rail

Level 12 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Daniel Rezaei
Daniel Rezaei

Daniel Rezaei and James Chen were heads up on a completed board of 4J7K5. With around 300,000 chips in the pot, Rezaei checked to Chen from the big blind, who made a bet of 250,000 from middle position.

Rezaei mulled it over for a while before putting in the call, only leaving 45,000 chips behind. Chen then tabled 65 and his two pair was good enough to win the massive pot.

Rezaei would put his final few blinds in the next hand, but to no avail, as he exited the tournament area shortly after, joining many other notable names on the sidelines for now.

Adams Keeps Climbing

Level 12 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Enzo Vito opened to 35,000 in middle position and was called by Jerry Odeen on his left. Santhosh Suvarna came along in the small blind, as did Timothy Adams in the big blind.

Suvarna and Adams checked the JQ6 flop before Vito continued for 50,000. Odeen and Suvarna folded, while Adams made the call to see the 5 turn.

Both players checked to the 7 river, where another round of checks followed. Adams showed J3 for a pair of jacks, good enough to take the pot as Vito mucked.

Ketzer Leaves With a Smile

Level 11 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Felipe Ketzer only had 39,000 chips remaining, and he put them all in from the button. Gab Yong Kim was sitting in the big blind and made the call.

Felipe Ketzer: KJ
Gab Yong Kim: 104

The flop of J8A saw Ketzer flop a pair and Kim was left with only runner-runner outs at his disposal. The 4 turn brought Kim a plethora of outs, however.

The 9 river completed one of his straight draws, and Ketzer laughed with Kim while he gave his remaining chips to his opponent and headed out of the tournament area.
