Gavrila's Flush Sends Bayout Packing

Level 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Axel Bayout opened from the cutoff with a raise to 350,000, leaving himself just 35,000 behind. Sensing the opportunity, Viorel Gavrila in the small blind responded by shoving all in. Bayout took his time before making the call, as a pay jump was looming.

Axel Bayout: AQAll in
Viorel Gavrila: A9

The flop 7J4 looked good for Bayout, who was at risk but ahead. Even the J on the turn kept Bayout in the lead, though it gave Gavrila a flush draw.

The river, however, brought the 2, completing Gavrila’s flush and sending Bayout out of the tournament just shy of the pay jump.

Polotzek Has "Heaps" After Massive Double Off Budac

Level 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Stepan Budac had a raise of 440,000 in front of him from the small blind before Kai Polotzek moved all in for 2,900,000 in middle position. Budac confirmed the amount before slamming in the chips to call, creating a pot with nearly 6,000,000 in the middle.

Kai Polotzek: KK All in

Polotzek showed down a pair of kings and needed to avoid an ace to earn the massive double up. He successfully navigated the J98 flop, while the 3 turn was no help to Budac. The river was the 6 and Polotzek stayed in the lead to secure the pot.

"Heaps. Heaps," Polotzek yelled out.

Daniel Trunk raised his button to 200,000 and saw Jan Vunderer defend his big blind. Vunderer checked to Trunk on the 3K6 flop, after which the latter bet 125,000.

Vunderer put in a raise to 375,000 and was called by Trunk. Vunderer fired an additional 500,000 on the Q turn, seeing Trunk put in another call.

Vunderer moved all in on the J river for 1,165,000 and was snap called by his opponent. Vunderer could only show ace-high with his A8, while Trunk won with 107 for a flopped flush.

After a careful count, it was determined that Trunk slightly covered Vunderer. Vunderer cordially said his goodbyes while Trunk chipped up to double the average stack.
