In a blind versus blind battle, Jan Vunderer bet 50,000 on a flop of J♠6♠5♦ and Stefan Ionita raised to 140,000. Vunderer then moved all in for 420,000 and Ionita snap-called.
Jan Vunderer: A♠A♥
Stefan Ionita: 9♠8♠
Vunderer was ahead with his aces, while Ionita was on a flush draw. The 4♣ turn was safe for Vunderer, while the river was the 10♥ to earn Vunderer a double up and leave Ionita with just one big blind.
Jan Sedlmajer raised to 40,000 in early position, Or Nezer moved all in for 110,000 in the small blind, and Sedlmajer called.
Or Nezer: A♥10♥
Jan Sedlmajer: A♠4♣
Nezer remained in the lead through the turn on a board of 6♦9♥3♣Q♥, but Sedlmajer spiked the 4♠ on the river as Nezer stopped to snap a photo of the board before making his exit.
The action kicked off with a dramatic three-way all-in. Ivan Mensik, as the short stack, held 9♠9♣, while Bulent Belek, sitting comfortably with the big stack, had J♥J♦. Sandwiched between them was Daniel Biclea, who looked strong with K♣K♠.
The board came down 6♦3♥10♣2♦K♥, making no difference to the outcome and confirming the elimination of Mensik, as Biclea's kings held strong. Belek, who had hoped for better, was left with just 85,000 chips after the hand.
In the very next hand, Belek, now under the gun, decided to shove all in. This time, he was called by Richard Balogh in the big blind.
Bulent Belek: Q♠9♦
Richard Balogh: 8♠8♦
The flop of 2♥A♥Q♣ brought a pair of queens for Belek, giving him the upper hand and enough to secure a double-up.
Riding the momentum, Belek won a small pot in the following hand against Tomas Svec, bringing his stack back up to a healthier 250,000.
Luca Franchini had opened from early position when Raviel Schlage moved all in for 155,000. Franchini made the call with the covering stack as the cards hit their backs.
Raviel Schlage: 10♠10♣
Luca Franchini: K♣Q♥
Schlage made a straight on the 9♠6♠7♣8♠A♥ board to secure another double-up and remain in the tournament.
Stefan Ionita had managed to build his stack up to around 100,000 after taking the big hit against Jan Vunderer and moved all in again from early positon. Action folded to Markus Beyer in the big blind who took a peek at his cards and snap-called.
Stefan Ionita: Q♥Q♦
Markus Beyer: K♣K♦
Beyer showed Ionita the bad news when he flipped over his two kings. The board ran out 4♦10♦8♠6♥J♣ and Ionita was sent to the rail.
At the same time at another table, Aram Ali was all in for around 200,000 with two nines, but Viorel Gavrila picked up a pair of jacks and held up to send Ali off to collect his payout.
Rene Maaz kicked off the action with a raise to 45,000 from the button. In the big blind, Peter Kamaras responded by shoving all-in with his remaining 200,000 chips, putting Maaz in a tough spot. After requesting a chip count and confirming the amount, Maaz decided to take a risk, saying, "I’ll gamble."
Kamaras, sensing the moment, replied with a grin: "You wanna gamble? Okay," and they went to showdown.
Peter Kamaras: A♦J♠
Rene Maaz: K♦4♦
The flop came down K♣9♠3♠, immediately pairing Maaz’s king and putting him in the lead. Kamaras now needed an ace or a spade for a backdoor flush to stay alive.
However, the turn Q♠ added more hope with the flush draw, but the river 3♥ sealed his fate, offering no help. Kamaras was eliminated from the tournament, while Maaz’s gamble paid off.
Vladimir Troyanovskiy and Jozsef Dobos built a pot of around 250,000 as they went heads-up to a flop of 10♣A♦3♣. Both players then checked to the 4♠ turn.
Troyanovsky bet 95,000 from under the gun and Dobos called in early position. The river was the 7♠ and Troyanovskiy slid forward a bet of 250,000. Dobos snap-folded and Troyanovskiy took down the big pot without a showdown.
Nearly 500,000 was already in the middle as Stepan Budac and Petr Targa went to the turn on a board of 9♠9♣7♥10♥.
Budac then bet 260,000 from the hijack and Targa moved all in, having Budac's remaining 600,000 covered. Budac leaned back in his seat and let out a deep sigh as he tanked for several minutes.
"Big pot," tablemate Marco Di Persio said as the clock continued to tick down. Budac eventually folded and Targa took down the big pot without a showdown.
