Four More Hands
Level 9
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
With the turn showing Q♥4♦2♠K♥, Krasimir Yankov bet 21,000 on the button. Vakhtang Javakhishvili raised to 91,000 from under the gun, and Yankov went into a long tank.
More than three minutes passed when Bouwe Claushuis said, "I take a long time but ..." which prompted the dealer to call the floor and mention that Claushuis was the one to call the clock on Yankov.
That was actually not the case; it had been Javier Francort. The additional countdown ran down to zero, and Yankov's hand was dead.
"How do you fold fours?" Javakhishvili inquired.
Yankov replied, "How do you know I had fours? I tell you why, because I also had the queen."
In the meantime, the clock had been stopped with the final four hands of the night drawn.
