Double Knockout for Fragale as Poker Gods Oblige Demands

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Antonio Fragale
Antonio Fragale

Cards were on their backs and stacks were in the middle, with Marius Gicovanu all-in for around 90,000, as was Nicusor Matei for a similar stack, with Antonio Fragale just covering both players.

Marius Gicovanu: K9 All in
Nicusor Matei: A5 All in
Antonio Fragale: Q8

Matei was ahead but Fragale was confident of his bounty taking abilities, requesting a queen from the dealer, who duly obliged on the Q32 flop.

Fragale wasn't satisfied however, and requested another, shouting "Queen, Queen, finish it!".

In remarkable fashion, the Q hit on the turn, and Fragale started punching the air in delight, the 3 river completing the board.

Florian Kraft: AJ All in

The K87 flop kept Kraft in the lead with his ace, but Wang spiked the 10 on the turn to make a pair and move in front. The river was the 3 and the Mini Main Event champion scored the knockout.

Khayate Regrets Goading Simpson

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
El Mostafa Bel Khayate
El Mostafa Bel Khayate

El Mostafa Bel Khayate opened to 30,000 from middle position, and Ian Simpson defended the big blind.

On the 1063 flop, Simpson check-called in the face of a 35,000 bet from Bel Khayate.

The K hit on the turn, and Simpson checked once more. Bel Khayate fired out a bet of 109,000, and Simpson considered the position.

While he did so, Bel Khayate said "You don't know what do my friend? You want my bounty? If you call, I'll be all-in."

After a bit more thought, Simpson called. Before the dealer had even dealt the 2 river, Bel Khayate attempted to move all in for around 190,000.

The dealer pointed out Simpson was first to act. Simpson asked what the position would be if he checked, and the dealer confirmed Bel Khayate's all-in would stand.

Simpson duly checked, Bel Khayate's chips were moved into the middle, and Simpson snap-called.

Bel Khayate confidently tabled AK for top pair kings, but was left stunned when Simpson tabled 105, his top pair tens improving to a flush on the river.

Bel Khayate was literally dumb founded, and took around 45 seconds before he even got up from his chair, sitting staring at the board in disbelief.

Enrico Campanile: KJ All in
Mauricio Salazar Sanchez: 97

The flop came 532, while the K turn gave Campanile a pair and left Salazar Sanchez drawing dead. The river was the J and Campanile doubled up.

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Antonio Fragale
Antonio Fragale

Antonio Fragale had been excited to snatch a €5,000 Mystery Bounty a few minutes ago and then got it in preflop against Marcel Grubinger, who jammed into two limps.

Marcel Grubinger: KK
Antonio Fragale: KQ All in

The Q103 flop gave Fragale top pair and he spiked the Q turn for trips to leave Grubinger with a single out. No miracle followed on the 5 river and that spelled the end for Gruginger, while Fragale had more reason to celebrate.

The stacks were counted down and Fragale had 750,000 remaining. Giannicola was barely covered and sent to the rail.

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Ghattas Kortas
Ghattas Kortas

Urmo Velvelt opened to 32,000 from early position, and received calls from Kevin Fluegel and Ghattas Kortas in the blinds.

On the J73 flop, Fluegel led out with a bet of 40,000, which only Kortas called.

The A hit on them turn, and Fluegel slowed down, check-calling in the face of a bet of 116,000 from Kortas.

The 5 hit on the river, and Fluegel checked once more. Kortas moved all in for 332,000, and Fluegel asked for a count, and went into the tank.

After around two minutes of thought, Fluegel folded, and Kortas let out a loud exhalation of breath as he blew out his cheeks.

"Show the bluff" requested a table mate, and Kortas obliged by tabling 108 for the missed gutshot.

"I always chicken out", said Kortas, "I told myself, 'Not f*cking this time'", he continued, as he raked in the pot.
