Gkatzas Fades the River to Double Up

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Dimitrios Gkatzas
Dimitrios Gkatzas

Artem Kobylynskyi raised to 200,000 from the cutoff, and Dimitrios Gkatzas defended his big blind.

After it checked to Kobylynskyi on the A2K flop, he bet 150,000 and was met by a check-raise to 350,000 by Gkatzas. Kobylynskyi made the call to see a turn.

The 10 fell on the turn, and Gkatzas jammed for 880,000. The shove was for almost half of Kobylynskyi's stack, and after using a few of his time banks, Kobylynskyi made the call to try and bust Gkatzas.

Dimitrios Gkatzas: A2 All in
Artem Kobylynskyi: A9

Gkatzas had flopped aces-up and was ahead of Kobylynskyi's top pair. Kobylynskyi needed a nine on the river to win the pot outright, and a ten or a king to chop the pot.

The Q peeled off to complete the board, and Gkatzas doubled up, while Kobylynskyi was left with just over ten big blinds.
