Event #14: €10,350 MAIN EVENT No-Limit Hold'em European Championship
Day 1b Completed
Day 1b of the 2025 World Series of Poker Europe €10,350 Main Event has wrapped up after seven 90-minute levels of poker inside King's Resort, Rozvadov. A total of 84 entries were recorded for this second flight, and by the end of the night, just 54 players bagged chips to secure their place in Day 2.
When the chips were counted, it was Marek Tomes of Slovakia who topped the Day 1b leaderboard with a stack of 637,700. Seated during Level 1, Tomes surged up the chip counts just after the dinner break when Nourddine Chiha three-bet jammed the turn into his nut straight.
Not long after, Tomes called Rene Schnitzler’s all-in on an ace-high flop with pocket sevens and held against a flush draw. A few smaller pots followed, including one where he showed a higher straight when one was available on the board, helping him finish the night as chip leader with one of the top five stacks overall heading into Day 2.

Murilo Garcia of Brazil sits second on the leaderboard after winning two key preflop all-ins with pocket kings. In the first, Sirzat Hissou five-bet shoved with pocket jacks and couldn’t find help against Garcia’s cowboys. Shortly after, Mikolaj Zawadzki’s ace-king also failed to improve, allowing Garcia to surge up the counts and finish the night near the top of the leaderboard.
Some of the other notables who made it through the day include Ivan Banic (410,500), Alexander Zubov (322,600), bracelet winner Lukas Pazma (269,400), Emilien Pitavy (151,700), Barak Oz (88,800), Viet Vo (83,000), Vlad Darie (66,500), and Simon Wilson (23,500), who will return with just over a fifth of the starting stack and plenty of work ahead if he hopes to make a deep run.
The 84 entries from today’s second flight, combined with the 462 from Day 1a, bring the total field so far to 546 entries. Of those, 358 players have bagged chips and will return for Day 2 on Sunday, October 5, at noon. Late registration remains open through the end of Level 12 on Day 2, with players allowed one reentry. The action on Day 2 picks up on Level 8 with blinds of 800/1,600 and a 1,600 big blind ante.

The survivors are currently bagging up their chips.
Stay tuned for a recap of the day's action plus the end of day chip counts.
Shashank Jain raised to 4,000 from the small blind and Hans Bosman made it 11,500 from the big blind. Jain continued with a call.
The 5♦7♣9♥ flop checked through to see the 10♥ appear on the turn. Jain bet 6,000, which Bosman called.
A K♥ completed the board and both players checked. Jain showed ace-high with A♥J♠, and lost the pot to Bosman's A♠7♦ for a pair of sevens.

The floor have announced that four more hands will be played before the survivors bag up for the night.
With around 18,000 in the middle, three players saw the flop come down A♥Q♣5♥. Arvin Verma checked from the big blind, Devin Dayan checked the cutoff, and Corey Hochman also checked from the button.
Another round of checks followed the 3♥ turn to see the 3♣ complete the board. Verma led out for 6,000, which got Dayan to fold immediately.
Hochman, however, thought about it for a while and even picked up the calling chips. But in the end, Hochman chose to fold, upon which Verma turned over a bluff with 10♠7♠.

Loud sounds were coming from Martin Kabrhel's table as he got up and walked away from it.
On a board of Q♠5♠8♣5♥, the rest of the chips went into the middle, leaving Kabrhel at risk against Vito Branciforte.
Martin Kabrhel: Q♣2♦
Vito Branciforte: 10♥10♦
Kabrhel had the best of it with a pair of queens, but the sounds were all made when the 10♠ slammed on the river, which gave Branciforte a full house.
Gal Naim, Giorgio Silva, Tomas Novotny, and Nicolae Paunescu have also all been eliminated over the course of the last couple of hours.

On the A♠9♦6♣ flop, it checked to Vittek, who bet 3,000. Nicholls called before Knapp raised to 14,000. Vittek exposed an ace to the table as he folded, and Nicholls also let his hand go.

Grzegorz Gorski came in with a raise to 3,000 from under the gun with Marek Tomes calling from the cutoff and Jan Krnac defending his big blind.
The three players checked the 9♣8♣6♦ flop to see the 10♠ roll off on the turn. Krnac bet 3,000, which only Tomes called.
A 7♦ landed on the river, making a straight on the board. Krnac checked and then faced a bet of 7,000 from Tomes. Krnac chuckled, shook his head, and then made the call.
Tomes showed A♠J♦ for a jack-high straight to take down the pot.
