Zhao Wakes Up With a Pair to Bust Svoboda

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Cheng Zhao
Cheng Zhao

Jose Scarano raised to 4,500 in the cutoff and Iman Ghashayar called on the button. Petr Svoboda then moved all in for 26,000 in the small blind and Cheng Zhao called in the big blind, while Scarano and Ghashayar folded.

Petr Svoboda: 55 All in
Cheng Zhao: 1010

Svoboda found himself dominated by Zhao's tens, and the AQK710 board offered no help as Zhao improved to a set to send Svoboda to the rail.

Short Break For Kuzmanovic

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The rest of the field had already cleared the room during the break while Boris Kuzmanovic and Rene Majed continued to tangle in a pot.

With around 60,000 in the pot on a board of J2947, Kuzmanovic moved all in from the button, sending Majed deep into the tank. Several minutes went by before he called for 152,000 in the big blind.

"Flush," Kuzmanovic said, turning over 87. Majed sent 1010 into the muck as he made his exit, while Kuzmanovic raked in the big pot that extended more than 10 minutes into the break.

Tantillo Stuns Jalba on the River

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Fausto Tantillo
Fausto Tantillo

Around 30,000 was in the middle as Eusebiu Jalba and Fausto Tantillo went to the turn on a board of 2756. Jalba then bet 16,700 from the button before Tantillo moved all in for 107,000 in the small blind.

Jalba tanked for several minutes until the clock was called. He ended up calling to put Tantillo at risk and turned over 97 for top pair, while Tantillo had AQ for just ace-high.

Jalba was poised for the knockout going to the river, but Tantillo spiked the A as Jalba slammed the table in frustration before handing over most of his chips.

Di Persio Folds Kings Preflop

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Marco Di Persio
Marco Di Persio

Big fold alert!

Lorenzo Arduini opened under the gun and Marco Di Persio three-bet the cutoff to 8,500. When it got back to Arduini, he four-bet to 25,500. A min-click then came in from Di Persio as he five-bet to 42,500, then Arduini six-bet to 77,500.

Di Persio was thinking out loud in his native language, but did slip in something in English when he asked "will you show if I fold?"

Arduini was trying not to laugh and held it together pretty well while Di Persio was still talking. Eventually, Di Persio folded KK face up to the table, and Arduini didn't give him the satisfaction of knowing if he made the right laydown as he quickly mucked his cards as he dragged the pot.

Cieslik Four-Bets the Flop Against Wilson

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Peter Cieslik
Peter Cieslik

On a flop of 277, Peter Cieslik bet 3,000 from the small blind and was met by a raise to 10,000 by Simon Wilson in the big blind. Cieslik took a few moments, then three-bet it to 18,000. Wilson wasn't done yet as he opted to put in the rare flop four-bet to 30,000. Cieslik continued with a call.

With 63,000 in the middle, the two players saw the 10 land on the turn. Cieslik quickly jammed, putting Wilson all in for his stack of 65,000. Wilson conducted a brief inventory and thought about it for a while before deciding to return his cards to the dealer and forfeit the pot to Cieslik.

Zizka Bluff-Catches

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Zdenek Zizka
Zdenek Zizka

Harald Casagrande opened to 4,000 from middle position, and was met with a three-bet to 12,000 from Zdenek Zizka in the small blind.

Action folded back to Casagrande, who called.

The J102 flop was checked to the J turn, and that was also knuckled to the 9 river.

There, Zizka led out with a tiny bet of 1,600. Casagrande took some time for thought, before raising to 17,000. Zizka went into the tank, but eventually made the call.

Casagrande tabled A8 for air, and Zizka's AK for ace-king high was good, earning a tap of the table from Casagrande.

Bognanni Busts Pitruzzella

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Marco Bognanni
Marco Bognanni

A chunky pot of around 84,000 had developed by the river, on a board of A105410, in a hand between Giuseppe Pitruzzella in early position and Marco Bognanni in the small blind.

Bognanni led out with a bet of 40,000, covering Pitruzzella's remaining stack of 30,000, and he went into the tank.

After around three minutes, and when fold seemed the most likely outcome, Pitruzzella suddenly shipped his chips into the middle.

Bognanni tabled A10 for the full house, and Pitruzzella threw his hands up in frustration as he tabled A7.

Algirdas Saveikis
Algirdas Saveikis

In a single raised pot, three players saw a flop of 725 where the action checked to Tommaso Castellano in the hijack. Castellano bet 4,500 with Algirdas Saveikis calling from the small blind, and Martin Surovec calling out of the big blind.

A 4 came on the turn, causing Saveikis to check again. Surovec bet 12,000, which Castellano and Saveikis called.

The 6 fell on the river and Saveikis decided to lead out for 27,500. Survovec and Castellano folded, allowing Saveikis to pull in the pot.

Jaros Starts Day 2 Well

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Patrik Jaros
Patrik Jaros

Patrik Jaros has had a great start to Day 2 and is up around 200,000 from his starting stack.

In the latest hand that went the way of Jaros, the full board of J239Q was showing with around 35,000 in the pot.

Jaros checked the hijack and Urmo Velvelt bet 25,000 from the cutoff. After thinking long and hard, Jaros stuck in the call.

"Good call," said Velvelt as he rolled over A8 for just ace-high. Jaros showed his pair of tens holding 1010 and raked in the pot himself rather than waiting for the dealer to push it toward him.

"These guys three-bet me with s**t, I'm so lucky," said Jaros.

Krahula Guesses Seelentag's Hand, Pays Him Off Anyway

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Benedikt Zeyher raised to 3,200 in early position and Roman Krahula three-bet to 10,700 in middle position. Felix Seelentag then four-bet to 27,000 in the cutoff, and only Krahula called.

The flop came QJ6 and Seelentag continued for 15,000. Krahula called and the 6 fell on the turn.

Seelentag then bet another 15,000, and Krahula again called. The river was the A and Seelentag bet 44,000. "Queens?" Krahula asked as he tossed in a chip to signify a call.

Seelentag indeed turned over QQ for a full house, and Krahula flashed AK as he mucked.
