Nikolaos Valtatzis

Neagoe's Bullets End Girshberg's Run

Level 28 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Den Girshberg
Den Girshberg

Darius Neagoe opened from the hijack, and Den Girshberg defended from the big blind.

The flop came 33A, which both players checked to the 9 turn. A bet and a shove later, Girshberg's stack of around 550,000 was in the middle and at risk, with no chance of winning the hand.

Den Girshberg: A8 All in
Darius Neagoe: AA

Neagoe had flopped top boat and made a deceptive flop check, which made Girshberg believe he had the best hand. The chips were most likely going in anyway, and after the 10 hit the river, Girshberg was sent on his way while Neagoe climbed to nearly 2,000,000.

Ghosh, What a River!

Level 27 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Asish Ghosh
Asish Ghosh

Frank Schuler raised to 115,000 from under the gun and Asish Ghosh jammed for 975,000 from middle position. Elia Salerno called for his stack of 500,000 and Schuler reluctantly folded.

Elia Salerno: AK All in
Asish Ghosh: AQ

Salerno's big slick had Ghosh dominated heading to the 963 flop, where neither player improved. Salerno picked up a flush draw on the 2 turn, which took away one of Ghosh's outs. However, the Q completed the board, giving Ghosh the win with a pair of queens.

Salerno bolted up from his chair and stood at the table, stunned for a few moments at having been eliminated in such a brutal fashion.
