Vittek Ends Karakas

Level 26 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Erkan Karakas
Erkan Karakas

Martin Vittek shoved for 835,000 from early position, and Erkan Karakas called off his stack of around 700,000 from the small blind.

Erkan Karakas: QQ All in
Martin Vittek: AK

It was a huge flip for both players, but it was Karakas who was left with just two outs after the 6K10 flop gave Vittek top pair. Neither the turn nor the river could save Karakas from the rail, which brought his run to an end.

Francort's Queens Send Grow Out

Level 26 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Javier Francort
Javier Francort

Jan Grow was all in from the big blind for his stack of around 500,000, with Javier Francort trying to bust him from the hijack.

Jan Grow: 99 All in
Javier Francort: QQ

Francort's ladies had Grow dominated, and he just had to avoid a nine on the runout to move up to over three million in chips.

The dealer fanned out a flop of QA6, giving Francort a set of queens. Grow was drawing dead once the 6 dropped on the turn as the 3 river completed the board and cemented Grow's elimination from the tournament.

Meyer Finds Call in Biggest Pot of Tournament

Level 26 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Robin Meyer
Robin Meyer

Heads up on a flop of 429, Robin Meyer bet 200,000 from the big blind before Faramarz Safari moved all in from the hijack. The two players had nearly identical stacks, and Meyer went deep into the tank.

Meyer buried his face in his hands before trying to ask Safari some questions. Safari just smiled and remained silent as Meyer spent a few more minutes shaking his head. He eventually grabbed a tower of his chips and stuck them in the middle, to a round of "Wows" from the rest of the table. "Queens or jacks?" a tablemate asked Meyer.

Faramarz Safari: QJ All in
Robin Meyer: KK

Meyer was ahead with his kings and needed to dodge Safari's flush draw as around 3,500,000 was at stake. He stood up from his seat to await the turn, which came the 4. The river was the 5, and Meyer slammed the table in celebration.

The stacks were counted down, and Meyer had 1,680,000, while Safari had 1,650,000 and was covered by just 30,000. He was sent to the rail.

Stann showed QJ for the nut straight, while Link was left with a set holding KK. Stann needed to avoid the board pairing to stay alive, but not only did Link hit the river, she caught the K to make quads and send Stann to the rail.
