Ragone Flops the Nuts and Rivers the Nuts

Filippo Ragone potted the button to 700,000 with just 775,000 behind. Sascha Wilhelm raised the pot out of the small blind, and Ragone called to put himself at risk.

Wilhelm had doubled-suited aces, and Ragone asked the dealer for some spades on the flop.

The dealer didn't comply as she dealt out a flop of 3♠7♦4♣ to give Ragone the nut straight. Wilhelm was drawing dead by the 5♠ turn as Ragone improved to an unnecessary nut flush on the 10♠ river, and he doubled up.

Sascha Wilhelm raised the pot to 700,000 on the button and Vitaliy Kryza then jammed for 1,375,000 out of the small blind. Daniel Bang-Ortmann in the big blind was interested and asked for the amount but folded, while Wilhelm called.

The 8♣8♠6♠ flop gave the chip leader a gutshot on top, but neither player connected with the 2♥ turn and 3♦ river for Kryza to double once again.

Bang-Ortmann checked the K♦9♦3♣ flop, and Wilhelm bet 400,000. Bang-Ortmann burned through two of his time banks before choosing to check-raise the pot. Wilhelm snap-folded and surrendered the pot to Bang-Ortmann.

Sascha Wilhelm raised to 400,000 on the button for Daniel Bang-Ortmann to defend the big blind. Both players checked the Q♦J♣9♠ flop and Bang-Ortmann then bet the 5♥ turn for 400,000, Wilhelm called.

Bang-Ortmann checked the 5♠ on the river and snap-called when Wilhelm bet the pot for 1,900,000. The chip leader tabled his Q♥Q♣10♠5♦ for queens full of fives, which was the effective nuts as he also blocked quads fives. Bang-Ortmann shook his head while exposing the J♥9♦9♣7♠ for nines full of fives.

Sascha Wilhelm raised to 320,000 from the cutoff and Tobias Peters three-bet the button to 1,200,000. When it got back to Wilhelm, he called to see a flop.

The dealer spread out a flop of 6♣2♥8♦, and Wilhelm bet 200,000, putting Peters all in. Peters called and the players went to a showdown.
