Palevic Gives Up On River

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Julien Ghezala
Julien Ghezala

Julien Ghezala opened to 16,000 from the cutoff, and Rifat Palevic defended the big blind.

Palevic check-called in the face of continuation bet of 12,000 from Ghezala on the K84 flop, leading to the 7 turn.

Palevic changed approach, leading out with a bet of 31,000, but was met with a raise to 76,000 from Ghezala. After quite a bit of thought, Palevic called.

The 2 hit on the river, and was quickly checked through. Palevic instantly sent his hand to the muck, and Ghezala took a chunky pot without having to show.

"No ace," Jakutis said as the flop came K104, giving Zarghami top set. "No jack," Jakutis added.

The 9 fell on the turn to give Noubarian his own set, but he couldn't find the one-outer on the Q river and was sent to the rail. Jakutis then admitted he folded ace-queen.

"That was the last nine," another tablemate added.
