Sergiu Cornea opened to 135,000 in the hijack and Miroslav Matula defended his big blind.
They went to a flop of 4♥6♥3♠ where Matula check-called a bet of 125,000 from Cornea to see the J♥ bring in the front door flush draw on the turn. Matula checked again, then Cornea put out a second barrel of 175,000. Matula let it go.
Miroslav Matula raised to 150,000 in early position, Cristobal Ochoa moved all in for 630,000 in the cutoff, and Matula called.
Cristobal Ochoa: A♣7♣
Miroslav Matula: Q♥Q♦
Ochoa was looking for an ace as Matula showed down a pair of queens. He picked up a straight draw going to the river on a board of 6♠4♠4♣3♥, but the 4♦ river was no help and he was sent to the rail.
At the same time at another table, Rifat Palevic had opened to 120,000 under the gun, then called when David Hu moved all in for 1,010,000 on the button.
David Hu: A♥9♥
Rifat Palevic: 9♦9♠
Hu was also looking for an ace, but it seemed he would have the same fate as Ochoa when the board came 10♣8♦5♦8♠. The river, though, was the A♠ and Palevic shot back in his seat and let out a deep sigh as Hu spiked two pair to win the pot and double up.
Fernando Banda moved all in for 830,000 in early position as action folded around to Lulei Hu, who snap-called in the big blind.
Fernando Banda: A♠Q♦
Lulei Hu: A♣K♥
Hu had Banda dominated going to the flop, which came 10♦9♣7♠. The turn was the 7♥, while Hu's king-kicker continued to play after the J♥ river to earn him the pot and send Banda to the rail.
Marius Gicovanu opened to 125,000 from middle position and was called by Miroslav Matula to his left and Sergiu Cornea, who defended from the big blind.
The dealer fanned a flop of K♣8♥5♥, and after Cornea and Gicovanu checked, Matula bet 130,000. Cornea folded, but Gicovanu called.
Matula fired a second barrel of 230,000 on the 4♠ turn that Gicovanu check-called again.
Gicovanu checked the K♦ river. Matula luckily checked back, since he had run into Gicovanu's quads with K♥K♠.
There was 600,000 in the middle on a flop of Q♣J♠J♥ in a hand between Frederic Delval, under the gun, and Cristobal Ochoa and Sergiu Cornea in the blinds.
The flop was checked to the 4♥ turn, where Ochoa led out with a bet of 125,000, which failed to shake off either opponent.
The K♠ river completed the board and was also knuckled through.
Ochoa had 8♥5♥ for the missed flush draw, and Delval mucked when Cornea tabled A♣K♥ for two pair, kings and jacks.
